Hi I am a white guy dating a black girl of jamiacan origin and my previous girlfriend was born in Trinidad (was mixed black & indian caribbean) & have experienced a fair amount of racism from people on the street shouting things out, intimidation, etc.... Could I ask if you disagree with mixed-race relationships full-stop or is it just a black/white thing? Not trying to start any arguments just asking your view as from your post you seem totally against it
Bearing in mind research from 1997 gave the following and that Britain has one of the highest rates of interracial relationships:
"In Britain, 40 per cent of black men are married to or living with a white woman, versus only 21 per cent of black women married to or living with a white man. "

Im walking down the street on a narrow side walk and a white couple is walking on the very same sidewalk side by side and dont form a single single line so I too can remain on the sidewalk and not have to jump off the curb just so they can stay a couple as they walk. they're notourious for doing this.

LMAO I do that to sometimes ha ha especially when the guy is black and he starts to distance himself from his white women when he sees us coming his way and she tries to grab onto him harder to try and prove a point...has me and my friends in stitches sometimes. One of my friends is the spitting image of naiomi campbell height and looks wise and she loves to wrap her hair and I have to say when she is walking and those mixed race couples are coming her way i swear always the black guy starts to tremble and sweat with his white women.
LOL! I admit that back in the day I used to make mixed couples feel VERY uncomfortable. My whole steez was legendary .Whenever I'd walk past them or end up in the same lift I always used to look down on the floor and shake my head and mumble under my breath. I can remember clearly on one occasion hearing one couple whispering "he's probably jealous" (lol) when they thought I couldn't hear them.
One of my uncles was the worse. I remember when were out somewhere about 12 years ago and he saw this black woman standing outside some flats by herself. He thought he'd get to know her but she was having none of it! He didn't approach her in an aggresive manner or anything but she still felt the need to kiss her teeth and give him the most disgusted look a person could muster and told him to piss off. So anyways two two we get in his car and when we turned the corner in the distance we see this same woman kissing up some white man!! My uncle was like f**k this and started to speed up towards them. It had just finished raining so what he did was drive right towards the kerb where this was this big arse puddle and splashed the both of them!! I almost pissed myself laughing and he was like "make sure you don't tell your grandma about that"!!! We don't get up to our antics anymore but those were fun times heh heh....
It's funny when the sellouts with their bluefoot partners suddenly get pins and needles whenever they come across a black couple or a group of brothas and/or sistas. Whenever I'm with my wife we almost always get subtle smiles and glances of approval from mainly sistas. One time we were at a local restaurant and two sistas walked up to us and said it was so nice to see a young black couple. Interesting how you get a TOTALLY different vibe from the mixed couples though!!! They have the nerve to give YOU badface!!!

Do you think that all people in mixed-race relationships are sell-outs? Are people not allowed to be attracted to people of another race or is it just a black/white thing? Thanks

You know what ? I'm glad someone made this topic because just today the amount of black women I saw with mixed race kids is amazing.
If I had to put figures to it, I'd say for every white woman I saw with mixed kid(s), there were 6 black women with them. No lie. With my own eyes today. And it wasn't just today, it's a regular daily thing. I would almost say that there are more mixed race kids coming out of black womens' wombs than white women. So what does that tell you.
The behaviour and mannerisms of some of these women is amazing. It's like we're going backwards. They let white men drop their sperm and won't say jack ish if he leaves them or don't do/treat them right. White man can come, drop sperm and leave without any noise for good. But we black people and men especially will always have to feel the wrath of their self loathing.
And no one is asying jack ish. I stared a topic about it a while ago but like we black people always do it was locked because we want to avoid and deny the issue.
Well.....I would say that it's a sad state of affairs but it is worse then that. For the longest while I have been trying to figure out how these people think but I can not do it. I really don't know about black people in the West. I don't want to say it but I think we'll just die out.

Only getting together to celebrate the loathing and negativity you have about yourselfs; not to embrace and celebrate in progress or to appreciate your identity and image. More than ever I'm hearing talk of 'nice/good' hair and the talking down of dark skin. In reality you're running away from anything to do with you because you've allowed the blow the history has delt us/our condition/state to get the better of you.

When the tube is packed and you got some dude at the back of you breathing down the back of your neck.... really want to flick my head back on their nose sometimes....
Fat people fatty food (crips) eating and breathing hard like they doing exercise... I mean its only food damn it... shouldn't that show you the sign to quit and get in the gym....
White women with long hair especially stand in frowhen in a packed tube... her hair was literally on my nose... I could smell smoke... and to make it worse... she turning her lead form left to right.... I closed my eyes and try to imagine something else...
Oh yeah I am feelingeveryone on that Black women white man thing..... really pisses me off.... the ones that is even worse is the Asian men on black girls... ohhh lawwwwwwwwdddddddddd....

Before this develops into a IR dating thread I'm going to keep my reply as brief as possible. The 40% and 21% figures quoted have been superceded by the 2001 census figures...basically they've both increased. God knows what the figures are now, probably gone up again.
In my opinion these figures are too high, which tells me something's is going wrong somewhere.
The reason why I posted my '8 point plan' is because some people would argue that skin colour doesn't when in the real world it matters a lot. I also get the impression that some elements of our community's cultural identity is slowly being eroded away into nothing...very subtle but it's having an effect none the less.

That's a good point Huzzah and I can't offer anything back to your argument but my agreement, and although it's obviously more likely statistically in the UK that people from minority communities will date the majority race Vs the other way round, the points people make about some of the reasons why are obviously a factor in this Vs simple physical/ emotional attraction . I only posted my response as i'm in a mixed-race relationship and do receive a lot of stares, mainly from black folk and was curious to some people's opinions on here. Thanks for your response

I understand with the recent event you are being asked to be vigilant
but for crikes sake...................stop stearing at my sports bag............yes it is big I am aware of that........it has folders , books and a packed lunch that consists of 5 containers of driiefent foods ( i dont do salad), ti also has gym gear, purse, bottles of water............hence it would make sense that i will be frequently opening my bag for stuff.............just because you have a bag does not mean you have a bomb.

I hate for someone to sit behind me in the movie theater and kick my chair and crunch their popcorn very loudly. They could be considerate of the fact that movies cost like $8 now and that kinda thing ruins the movie...better yet, I'd prefer strangers to sit NOWHERE near me in the movie theater if there are plenty of other available seats That is rude in and of itselt to sit near a stranger
