Hello Everyone:

As an Afro-Latino American female, I am curious in the differences between Black Americans and Black Britons? During my years of living in Europe and London, I received mixed reviews.  If you are not "authentic", I have received some interesting comments about my identity.  It's hilarious but was not doing my years of residing abroad.  I readily love the Carib and European culture because it's open and not a myopic view about life, sex or the spiritual things of God.  However, England was interesting regarding spirituality.  The Blacks were very receptive about God and the Whites were not as open.  Hope someone understands my experiences.  Another interesting question I would like to ask is, do Black Britons intermarry with Black Americans? Just curious because most of the encounters that I had were mostly with Black Britons remaining in their culture/heritage! Thanks for providing your feedback!

Its always obvious when I have little to do, because I wander into threads like this and actually respond.  Well, its one of those slow, nothing much happening days so why not have some fun I say?

Hey, you say you got ‘mixed reviews’….on what?  Are you a travelling performer or something?

Anyway, judging from your references to the Caribbean, Europe and England, I take it you have travelled to all of these places?  That being the case you might actually be better placed than most (certainly those less travelled than yourself) to answer the question.  Do you think they are different?
As to your question whether black Britons intermarry with Black Americans.  Well I would say….ummm…. not that much really.  Mind you that could have a lot to do with the fact that you live over there and we live over here.

That’s what you get when you catch me on a slow day I am afraid.  ;)
