blue eyes on black children is no phenomenom really take brazil for example where there is a history of mixing with white.

You see a lot of there and I mean Jet black women with natural blue eyes  no contact lenses.

This is nothing I am in awe of you understand i am just making a point that this is more common than you realise lol. Some ofus need to travel to see these things for ourselves and then maybe there wouldn't be such a fuss over it.

You know the eyes thing sometimes skips a generation too so for example.

A black man and a white woman may have a baby that has blue eyes that come from her.

Okay lets say this baby with blue eyes grows up and goes onto marry a dark skinned black woman.

They produce dark skinned children those children have brown eyes . However they go onto have children and ummmmm what do ya know one of their children has blue eyes.

This is just a typical example and it happens all the time you see it in the caribean, brazil in fact all over so it's nothing new and it's nothing to be in awe of because it's on those things.

That baby would look better with brown eyes.  He is cute though.  Light colored eyes doesn't mean mix.  Black people carry recessive traits too.

Good point amononi regarding recessive traits however we have to look into the reasons why we carry recesive traits and where they  come from.

In genetics a trait that must be contributed by both parents in order to appear in the offspring. Recessive traits can be carried in a person's genes without appearing in that person. For example, a  person with brown eyes may have one gene for Brown eyes, which is a dominant trait, and one gene for blue eyes, which is recessive. It is thus possible for two brown eyed parents to have a child with blue eyes, provided each parent contributes a gene for blue eyes.

This would suggest that going back into a persons gene pool there would have had to have been someone with blue eyes in order for a person to have blue eyes.

It would be intresting to see if mixing is or is not a factor behind  this also to look back in our African ancestory just to find out how long exactly there has been black babies being born with blue eyes.

Now I am no scientist  but could it be recessive genes in African people the world over are yet a another sign of the slavery of our past because these genes have to come from somewhere.

Because there are many black folk who produce babies with blue eyes and yet as far back in their family tree that they can remember they cannot see any mixing in their blood.

However if they were able to look back in their ancestry as far as the 14th century who knows what they may find in their genepool.

I leave you with that thought

Well since I dont believe in the devil concept whether the child is truly saintly or devilish is bye the bye.

But if I had to draw a "devil pickney" then that baby would fit the bill. Im sure he will grow up to be a nice chap...but it sure scares the hell out of me.

Sorry Chi..you can be as politically correct as you want but dark skin with blue eyes looks off key and is far from attractive in my eyes.

I understand what you are saying and asking.  First people must take into account that blue eyes in anyone is rare even in white people.  Second, it is always due to recessive traits.  White people are the most common people to carry recessive traits due to adaptation to geographical region.  Third, people cannot assume if a black person has blue eyes then somewhere in history a family member had blue eyes or had to be white or mix.  This is not always the truth.  Of course, there are blacks who are mix and have blue eyes due to their white counterpart, but recessive is simply recessive.  That is, it never has to show up.  Fourth, the word recessive is scientific for defective.  It is not nice or political correct to say defective-- it sounds insulting and harsh.  Over periods of time genes can mutate and change.  I don't know the course of this but when that happens it becomes "recessive" or shall we say the new mutated gene is defective thus changing itself to something that does not fit.  I hope this makes sense.

Shemsi, I agree, the kid sort of freaks me out, and where I come from there are quite a few people with green eyes.

^^^^Oh so you meant unattractive baby, when you said "Devil Pickney"? Oh my bad....lol

I dont think it looks attractive either on this baby, nothing PC about it at all........Devil Child usually describes an evil baby, not an unattractive one, which are two totally different things, well you learn something new every day.....lol

Y'all now this junk was posted twice on blackhairmedia.com in the talk, talk, talk section? One black woman was saying how some of her ancestors were part Irish and part Cherokee. Then she said she wouldn't be surprised if any of her kids came out with blonde hair. Another woman said she may sound like a hater but she and her brother both had blue eyes but they turned brown and she got mad about it. And she went on to say her brother is lighter than her though. Those women have some serious issues. Always sitting around coveting and admiring white folks features. There have been many threads there where women kept posting about black children with non-brown eyes, especially blue.

Something to think about...I think it would be interesting to observe if the child's eyes accrues melanin later on due to "late waking" of melanin production or just a rare defect that prevented that process from ever taking place.

Blue eyes on a black person look scary more than anything else.
If anything they remind me alot of a cat's eyes. Not cute at all.

Anyone that has issues with this baby having blue eyes should seek mental help.

No one has issues with it. Blues eyes on a baby that's supposed to be black is just not cute to most people here. If you have a problem with our opinion that's too bad. You're going to have to live with it. No one here likes to see the features of slaveowning rapists show up in them or any other black people. It seems that you find them to be exotic , so you should be the one to seek mental help.

I think you need to read and comprehend simple sentences, but thats another story. I don't think anyone actually gives a flying sh*t about your opinion, least of all me. But if you have a problem with the babies eyes naturally being blue, then I again seriously advise you and any other person to seek medical attention, and stop pushing your insecurities on other people, because its pathetic.

Some people can't help the way they were born, if you don't like it then kindly shut your trap you insecure little brat. You also seem to come to many conclusions about my opinion when I haven't even voiced it properly. I'm sitting on the fence, because issues like this don't warrent my divine opinion.

Simply put, its none of my f**king business what colour the babies eyes turn out.

No one has issues with it.  I just don't think it is necessarily an attractive aspect of the child or anyone for that matter.  The point is that we automatically elevate people in attractiveness just because they have some trait that Whites particularly have or revere.  It should tell us something about our mental conditioning.

None of this 'We' please - it's simply baggage that you allow yourself to carry, fine. Me personally, I wouldn't elevate a person in attractiveness because they have 'white' features. I also wouldn't look down on a black baby because of the features they naturally had.

It makes you insecure when you don't consider what that baby will have to go through when he grows up surrounded by people like you. I bet if you had it your way you'd blind the kid.
