First of all I'd like to say Thank GOD...The Nigerian boxer Samuel Peter won the fight against the ignorant "black" man James Toney.
I respect Toney as the great fighter he is, but I have no respect for him as a person. Do you know what this "Black" man said before the fight????
Toney: "I'm gonna send you back to Africa on a banana boat", "You're a SLAVE", "go climb a tree". 
All this is coming from a BLACK man, telling another black man he's a slave and pretty much saying Peter is a monkey. I already knew James Toney was a dumb f**k, but this is just way too much.
Talk about black people putting other down. How are you going to call another black man a slave and go climb a tree? What kind of slave mentality is that?? James Toney sounds like a white racist.
James Toney even call other people "ugly" and "Fat". Toney should definitely NOT call other people FAT or UGLY. 
Damn...I'm still angry. he's such a dumbass. Black people like Toney should be locked up.

does ANYBODY REMEMBER THE BERNARD HOPKINS/FELIX TRINIDAD FIGHT?
THEY HAD PRESS OCNFERENCE in PUERTO RICO
Trinidad is puerto rican..hopkins is African american...
Hopkins grabbed a puerto rican flag and threw it on th eground.....
a riot broke out....some random fans just chased him and tied to whoop him.....
he sad afterwards..after beating felix..it was just a ploy to get felix angry.....and out of his game plan

It's not about promoting a fight in this case man. James Toney been a punk outside the ring his whole career. Even if this was to only promote the fight, as a black person...How far do you wanna take it?? When a black person calls another black person these types of things to put you down. Use Racial remarks that whites and other nonblacks have been calling people of african descent for centuries...then he sounds like a selfhating man, because the same thing could be said about him...I mean Toney is a black man NOT white?

I remember the Trinidad/Hopkins fight and the press conference. The action by Hopkin ; throwing the Puerto Rican flag down was different than what Toney did. I think he was trying to get underneath Samuel Peter's skin but he chose the wrong words to do so. I used to watch James Toney alot but nowdays he is not what he used to be. Dude looked better before the weight.
Which brings me to Ali. One of the reasons I lost respect for Ali is when he called Frazier a gorilla infront of white people. But thinks were different in thos days. Sometimes I watch those fights on ESPN Sports Classics.

Even if it was a white man that made the comment I would view it the same way, in my opinion most (but not all) boxers have very little sense to start off with and what little they do have is eventualy knocked out of them.

I'm glad he lost if he said all that. He must have said this at the press conference before the fight where they almost got into a fight on-stage. \
Peter is a much younger fighter with hard hands an Toney was a older soft belly punching bag. Didn't see the fight but I hope he knocked the snot out of Toney.

@All someone quite rightly put up the picture of Ali and his nasty and uncalled for comments against Smoking Joe Frazier...
Comments really uncalled for and some of the stuff he said really hurt Smoking Joe...about he looked like a monkey or gorrialla..Years later when they were old men and greats of history it was a shame to see big Joe refusing to make peace with Ali who is my number one hero of the modern age. But can't blame the brother because there are lines we need to respect even if all is fair in the game so to speak.

I didn't justify anything Toney said...just putting it in context of other stupid and ignorant things boxers have done.
It's not about promoting a fight in this case man. James Toney been a punk outside the ring his whole career. Even if this was to only promote the fight, as a black person...How far do you wanna take it?? When a black person calls another black person these types of things to put you down. Use Racial remarks that whites and other nonblacks have been calling people of african descent for centuries...then he sounds like a selfhating man, because the same thing could be said about him...I mean Toney is a black man NOT white?
Toney doesn't beleive anything he said...that's why they call it trash talking....
it's a low class move in any instance......
Ali said a few stupid things during his career.....especially when he fought Frazier.
To me, the Toney comment was along same lines as what Ali did....he hurt Frazier's feelings so deeply that years later, when Ali developed Parkinson's "illness"..Frazier publicly joked about it.

I remember the Trinidad/Hopkins fight and the press conference. The action by Hopkin ; throwing the Puerto Rican flag down was different than what Toney did. I think he was trying to get underneath Samuel Peter's skin but he chose the wrong words to do so. I used to watch James Toney alot but nowdays he is not what he used to be. Dude looked better before the weight.
Which brings me to Ali. One of the reasons I lost respect for Ali is when he called Frazier a gorilla infront of white people. But thinks were different in thos days. Sometimes I watch those fights on ESPN Sports Classics.
The Hopkins flag throwing....and this comment were all staged.....
Hopkins offended a lot of people..he had to get extra security and apologize publicly after the fight to make peace with some of the younger and more crazy Puerto Ricans out there.
As far as Ali, that's where we differ(and I think on the rap issue also) the fact that whites were around doesn't matter to me then or now....but fact that person would make such comment to person who looks like him period ...I stopped being concerned about what whites will think years ago....any issue relating to black peopel , I'm more concerned about "us" and what "we" think/feel.
Earlier fight he called Frazier a "Tom"...which was the WORST thing you could call a black man back then..an "uncle tom"...uncle tom , white man's puppet..white man's champion, gorilla......he said the most foul things he could think of....to anger Frazier and to promote the fight

Two reasons:
1. Half of us still look to check the box "N****r" on the racial identification box. Sad but as many African Americans born here and immigrant can tell you. Until you discuss with an AA for 30 minutes why he is not a N****r and he can counterpoint you for those 30 minutes with arguments of why he is you really would have no clue of who you are trying to convince LOL
2. Look at him and honestly tell me that you would get more understanding from a brickwall LOL Does this man look like he can put together 5 straight intelligent sentences LOL
