Blick!! I haven't heard that since i was in High school. As you grow up and start seeing the world you will realise that how stupid that word and the meaning of it is. If Black People Still say it to each other we need to realise theres something wrong. I take pity on people who think like this,i love my Dark skin men all my boyfriends have been. also i have had countless amounts of men tell me how beautiful i am ( not in a big headed way) because of my complextion and guess what? Most of them were White men so if they can apreciate the beauty of a dark skin Black woman , Why cant we .

I am darkskinned, more like gabriel union, some people would say i am brownskinned or dark, whatever. But where i'm from (USA) to some degree black men do prefer lighter skinned female and black women do prefer darker skinned male, but at the end of the day both dark girls and light boys gets play if they look good. It's really all about beauty, if you're ugly and darkskinned, don't blame the fact that boys won't approach you because of your complexion. you're just ugly, period. I'm happen to have been bless with my mother's west indian beauty( caribbean women are the most beautiful, strictly my personal opinion) and my father's dark complexion, and i swear everytime i step out of my house guys are chasing me left and right. I had never had anybody say anything about my darker skin. ( not in my face) Black people have to many baggage in general and we should stop blaming the white man for our lack of thereof, and start to work together as the strong people that we are.

In the end, it's not about your face, it's what lies underneath, and I know it's a cliche, but it's true.
To be honest, I'd never been aware that issues like these existed, until I joined this forum, and I'm really appalled about how other black people think.
Sometimes I wish I'd never joined, because I'd rather not know, and ignorance is bliss, how can you be proud to be black when you have views like these?

| It is really sad to see how we blacks discriminate against ourselves. I think the media is largely to be blamed for all the hype about dark skin vs light skin. Personally, I think it's wonderful that we blacks come in so many shades. I have noticed that the whole light vs dark issue is directed to girls. What about guys? Do black women find light guys more attractive than dark ones?

Where are from?
In my own experience( hearsay) black women are usually atrracted to the darkerskinned male. Most don't find lighter shaded men attractive. | yeah, I also heard that both black and white women prefer darker black guys. I think its because the media doesn't promote light skinned black males like lightskinned females. I must say, many light skinned guys don't appear as 'masculine' like their darker mates. That's not to say they are less attractive though. I'm currently dating a very light guy, initially I thought he was mixed race. I don't find him more attractive than my previous partner who was darker, to me they both handsome. Complexion is not on top of my list when it comes to chosing a guy.

Well from day black people be calling each other n*****z. I just feel its a way for a dark skinned brother to get "one over" on his male counterpart, should he be a darker shade. Majority of the time blik is used in a joking manor anyways.
I dont even see it as an issue for dark skinned people, nor see it as a racist word either, ive seen/heard a white girl call a next white girl a "pale pasty" bi**h, its all the same thing.
What i would say thoe is the media plays a massive role...as they portray lightskined as the more superior/attractive race. Its continuously seen on TV, and as we all know "sex sells" and because of this, some lighter skinned gurls / guys might start believing their more superior/attractive witch then encourages or brainwashes other guys/gurls to believe that this is what is seen as "ATTRACTIVE" or in general the more attractive race. I dunno...only a suggestion?!
How do you manage to get light skin anyway?! A mixed raced female with a fully black guy? that would be the easier way, correct...?!
I know for a FACT that black guys love lightskinned girls, coz even thoe their light their still seen as black.
Personally, i find that dark skinned girls are very attractive, most definatly! Sayin that thoe i think all races are attractive. Every race has different "looks" that are attractive! Gods basically given us all options to be with whoever/whatever we feel is attractive in our eyes!
Anyways im out?!

personally i think its only some girls only go for darkskinned guys i am dark and i love every type of race you just have to be buff thats the bottom line cause girls are saying how they dont get noticed as much as the light ones they're doing the same thing by excluding light guys

This is specially for brown eyes - The stone tht the builder refused became the head corner stone - :I bet it broke your poor little heart, when boys used to say you look better in the dark/now they give up all their learning skills to be somewhere, in the park with you/or yes with you/homely girl........you are so homely/you a beatiful woman or yes you are........homely girl............you are so homely.

I agree with you 100% But I noticed that light brown men go for women darker or more of a chocolatey color. I neva seen light men saying, "Sorry, you too dark" But a dark man does say it. Dark men are just like the dark women, if they had a chest and something between their legs they would be one. When they say stuff like that, their the main ones dissing themselves. And SOME light women say light is better, but then they say the dark men is what they want. If you say light is better and you dater dark guys like Tyrese or whateva, you can easily exclude you light men. What's up with this?

to be honest with err body now - light skinned girls some how are a bit weak in bed and i dont like tht-not all of em but the ones i know were just not the lick.The dark skinned ones just hit me with the vibe
i dont go for colour but when it comes to sex - the dark skinned girls are sexier and more aggressive.
the light skinned were adventourous but never did much to trigger me.No offense but if yu light and know yu got game then justify this.

This is a joke...Do you think white people have a divide between shades of skin? This is pitiful look at us seperating from each other fighting amongst ourselves this is why as a people we'll never succeed because we are constantly trying to put each other down. Black people are beautiful no matter what their complexion because blackness isn't just to do with the way you look it is also to do with your beliefs your politics.
@ light skin gal u r shallow as hell i can't believe that you wrote that are you aware that what was going on in your head you actually added to the thread? your sad beyond belief but what is worse is that you have such little love for yourself that you think you are beautiful or inferior because you are light skinned.
