here's some advice:

practise the use of proper English each and everyday of your life.  Find opportunities to write grammatically correct English - even on Blacknet's own message board.

practise makes perfect

Along the same lines as Happiness I would involve myself in anything to do with and anything related to the topic.  It doesn't necessarily mean that you'll have to sit at a desk all day.  For instance, you could read some of the people on these forums who write well and possibly reply to certain topics to perfect your skills.

Personally, I found the best thing to do was just to copy pages and pages of text from books and especially newspapers because it gets you thinking on how you should write 'properly'.  Read at every opportunity but it doesnt have to be pages and pages.  Pick up a newspaper, read one article then go do something else.  Come back later and read another bit.

But generally, I think the best thing to do is practice.  Do old exams papers.  Make up exam questions you can do yourself.  I think this is especially the case with Maths but English too.  Go through things with someone who is close to you - parents, older siblings/family who were good at school because that can sometimes make you feel a bit more comfortable with the whole situation as in you know someone close to you who's been through the same thing and they came out at the end of the tunnnel, lol.

You could even PM me things that you might have written and I'll give you my comments if you want.  Or if there's any topics in Maths or Science you aren't too confident on PM me.

If you are honest with yourself and know that you are doing the best you can then you shouldn't feel pressured or stressed.

What subjects are you doing besides the core ones.

hi Choong Gal!
Ask your teacher for past exam papers, they should give you a tastes of what is expected from you. Try not to be to nervous and when sitting the exam, make sure you read the exam paper carefuly. Do not answer your own question!! Also for eng lit., you should know what text you are answering the questions on so try to familiarise yourself with the book as much as possible. Remember you have four months to revise so just do a little every day rather than trying to cram everything in at the last moment.
Good luck! I hope i was of some help!!

Practise past exam questions because the exam boards seem to recycle the same questions over and over.

When you're answering the questions makes sure that each paragraph is signposted/linked to what the question is asking. Only write stuff thats relevant to the question, under exam conditions it's so easy to just write everything you've learnt.

Have an original introduction and conclusion to make your answers stand out.

If it's an open text exam make sure that you write lots of good, concise notes in the text.

Also if you don't do anything else... just read, it improves the vocab and spelling.

Good Luck and keep working hard! Be confident! I reckon I was more stressed doing my GCSE's than I was doing my A levels!
