For those of you who don't know what it is, it could be described as one of the biggest weekenders aimed at Afo-Caribbean university students.

Acfest is good. Although im not a student it has not stopped me from going to them and viewing, seeing, and raving *smiles*
Acfest is very good for, How do you say..... Networking..
If you can you should try and go, 2 days, 3 raves i think, if my memory serves me correctly. Few of my friends are playing at the raves and there normally good.
During the days they hold events, football, basketball etc etc..
It wasn't on last year and its back this year so no doubt it will be a hit..
I'll probably go as im from brum anyway..

Yea i went and i agree, it was such a flop. da rave on fri was sh*t and da last minute venue change for saturday was takin da piss esp as it was much further away. apparently dat happened because the police wudnt let dem hold it at white pearl or sumthin ridiculous like dat.
Bar cessna was such a poor choice, its not evn meant 2 hold raves, its just a bar. as soon as i stepped in i cud feel da tension n i kne dat da rave was gona get locked off. They tried 2 say it was cz of da violence but it was poor organisation on acfest's part. dere was 1 fite and dat has neva stopped a rave ive eva been2 b4. da fite finished time b4 da rave got locked off anyway so if dat was da reason den ppl r foolish. da room in the BAR dat acfest booked wasnt big enuf, ive never seen a room so packed out b4. da djs kept tellin ppl 2go bck dwnstairs whilst da bouncers were still lettin ppl upstairs which didnt make sense. and anyhow, how ru gona expect ppl who paid money 4 a rave 2 go downstairs whilst da djs and rave are upstairs?????
da rave however on sun was hectic, it was so heavy. one of da best raves ive eva been 2, rampage smacked it, nearly made up 4 da wkend.
al i can say is i spent a lot of money n im lookin 4 a refund, serious tings.
last point, well done all da ppl dat booed victor, he needs 2 stay at home n stop tinkin hes some celebrity wit his same ol' toothpick n clothes dat neva change. it was joke wen he arrived on sat and da rave had already got lockd off

Saturdays rave was locked off because of police. Bar Censsa (in Solihull) only had a 1am licence- which meant that come 1am they were suppose to close, and they tried to stay open. So the organisers must of know that beforehand.
Why did they move it to Solihull anyway; it aint even in Birmingham (it's just outside). It was over long to get there. And the venue they originally had wasn't even being used that night. My friends had driven up from london on staurday night and there weren't even any signs or posters to let those who hadn't been at the sports day know the venue had been moved let alone where too!!!!! THEY FLOPPED BIG TIME!!
Sundays rave was heavy though!!! All those who missed it should be over pissed!!

i was proper pissed off because we all travelled far from up north to come down there. Friday was sh*t was no vibes at all, the garage room was safe though.
then saturday oh that just made me screw big time, what killed it was steve sutherland, what a sh*t DJ, i mean he was cussin black people sayin we all need to come off the stage how could we when they were lettin more and more people upstairs, what a stupid idea oh my god that venue!!!!!
and then he said glaxy has nothin to do with this, like there was some shootin goin down....please....sell out. no what actaully killed it was the nuff police outside i swear i was just like rass, was there really any need????
sunday's rave was live should of went on till 4 though, but hey!!!

da whole saturday escapade jus got me soooo vexed. i thought da floor was gona collapse. considerin da cirsumstances i thought ppl were well behaved. da dj was pissin me off, tryin 2 chat galaxy fm's name like dere some heavy radio stn. i duno how dey xpected ppl 2 go dwnstairs wen da rave was upstairs. pure foolishness
da ting dat annoyed me was da music was actually alrite, much better dan fri anyway n den dey jus lock it off. ACFest done well cz dere laughin wit my money all da way 2 da bank. Da worst rave on fri lasted till 4 but da heaviest one finished at 2, doesnt evn make sense.
n hav never seen police descend on a rave so quick b4.literally dey sed go home n we wnt dwnstairs n da police were dere ready n waitin, like ppl had guns inside. ridiculous
sat's rave was meant 2b at whte pearl but da police told dem last minute dat dey cudnt hold da rave dere...well dats wat i heard anyway
n b'ham cab drivers r sh*t. deres no night bus n den cab drivers dnt evn kno where dere goin tryin 2 tell us 2 pay upfront and give dem directions at da same time, got me evn more vexed.
dey need 2 move acfest 2 london so IF i eva go again at least i can go home wen it it flops
i cud write a book abt dat whole wkend, so annoyed...sunday was ova heavy tho. i tink dere wud hav been a riot if it had been otherwise

Omg! the acfest was the biggest flop eva! fri was dry the venue moved on sat so i just thought 4get it went back home sunday morning only 2 hear dat sunday nite was heavy. i wud like a refund my tickets only just came in the post on tuesday ne way. what kind of stupidness is that?? shud hold it in london nxt y but then again nobody is gonna wanna go next yr after this flop.

i went acfest but il neva go again! sat nite was a disgrace -
cost us £20 each way in a taxi that wud hav been £5 to the original venue.
couldnt breathe upstairs but who wants 2 go down when the dj is upstairs
dj was out of order-'black people dont listen' & 'ur gonna break the floor'
police!!!that was jus racist coz there wasnt even trouble -actin like jus coz were black theres gonna b trouble
sunday was good tho
dont know how all the people that traveled from london and up north were feelin-payin for travel and hotels coz i live in brum and i was screwin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why on Sunday the DJ was trying to blame the police for Saturdays rave getting locked off.
SATURDAY GOT LOCKED OFF BECAUSE THE VENUE THEY'D MOVED IT TO ONLY HAD A 1AM LICENCE. Which means that when they said the rave was going to be 9pm-2am they were chatting s**t, as once it hit 1am it HAD TO CLOSE.
That's why the police got there just after 1am- BECAUSE THE BAR ONLY HAD A 1AM LICENCE (ie:it needed to close at 1am) So they were scamming it from the begining!!!!!!!

Yours truly was there giving out Free Mix Cd's etc.
Acfest was terrible. I had to do a write up on the weekend for a website and i could not get enough in.
In a nuttshell. Overpriced, under-promoted, badly organised, money orientated.
I hear from the Acfest camp that it is supposed to be held in London next year. Hopefully it will be MUCH better. No doubt i'll be there again on the stand covering the goings on again..

i really don't think london is such a good idea, just because it is london and i do belive there will be trouble, just a hunch and furthremore yes london mybe the capital and have central good clubs and all, but is the acfest team making any considerations to the students up north???? past birmingham????
my advise to anyone within the ACFEST CAMP, if u are going to hold it in london, please please please organise it properly, as a committe member of my own uni's ACS, we need to know in advance where it is going to be held, because students from up north, have huge travelling and accomadation expenses.
And if we are informed earlier we can organise ourselves to buy cheaper coach/train tickets at bargin prices rather then leaving it to the last minute when only the standard fares are available. Have you seen the standard train prices from manchester to london???? Also so we can also organise and research hotel accomdation better, to get decent night rates, also if we book early enough we may get discounts.
SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO, YOU HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO TO COME BETTER NEXT YEAR SO DON'T BE LETTIN US DOWN AGAIN. 4REAL.

Firstly, I think london is a good idea. Fair enough it's far to travel- but it's pthe same distance that loads of uni's from london have to travel to birmingham for ACFEST each year.
Secondly as for the clubs- the advantage is that we have clubs which have 5/6am licences (such as Colisseum, vauxhall); which mean if they organise the raves properly they can go on later.

Do what most of us do when we go Birmingham, hire a coach to bring all of you to London. As long as you fill the coach, it works out cheaper than catching a train.

u must go 2 brunel den miss price, i saw da coach wit nuff heads on it. But wat if u go 2 a uni where there arent enuf blck ppl 2 fill up a coach as sad as it may seem?
i suggest minibus.com which is cheap all the time from £1 fares but avoid like da plague if its hot cz for some reason dey dnt like to have windows on their coaches.
they shud def hav it in london because there's more clubs and a better nightlife and most importantly......NIGHTBUSES AND CAB DRIVERS WHO KNOW WHERE THEY'RE GOING AND WHAT THEIR ABOUT. The amount of money i spent on cabs was ridiculous. After dat weekend i realise how much nightbuses r my friends!!
