i dont know about anyone else but i chose my universities on places where i've been before, and which were close to home. didnt know anything else about them and prospectuses big them selves up anyways so that don't help.
a friend of mines recommended this website to help me choose what uni to choose based on it's performance, like how much your degree will mean when you come out of uni, and the research rating, and the number of points for the inspection thing, and how hard it is to get into the course. and it compares the unis in a table. i found it really helpful.
