Its not just deep AA

Its everyday things.

Parris who says there is no racism, we just dont work hard enuff blah blah blah, we make excuses la di da has walked into the real world from wherever he was.

Parris.  You are just lucky you are a strong willed man who is capable of fighting to keep the boy in the right place.  What about the gifted black youth with parents who arent as assertive?  In that situation white kids parents dont have to be assertive, their kids are put there without fuss, you saw that yourself.  That is the difference.

Be glad the teachers didnt take it further and steer him towards music, sports etc etc... Thats what they do here.

Happy that your nephew is in the right place now and good luck to him but hopefully you have learned something, and him too.  Remember that when he applys for college, jobs etc etc...

Actually I agree and disagree.

First........find where I said "there is no racism" and I'll eat your hat.  Racism exists not just for white and blacks.....but every other race on this planet.  Its how we confront the racism.  My message in this room as always been one of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.

Who's fault is it that I did not get my nephew into these classes sooner?  The system?....no brutha......that blame rests at my feet.

Secondly...we don't work hard enough in many situations (certinaly not all) and usually do what I did.  Take it at face value what is told to us.

And ahhh yes brutha....a good lesson was learned.
