This is what i do.

Organise a tidy quiet space, switch off your phone, any music, tv etc and tell siblings not to bother you.

Know exactly what you want to get done for that revision session so that you dont end up sitting there doing nothing.

Dont spend too long on one topic and take regular breaks. 5-10 minutes every half hour.

When you finsih one topic, write as much about it as you can remember and all the bits you miss out, write them in red or any other colour so you know what you have to concentrate on.

As your revising list all the stuff you're unsure about so that you can consult teachers (if there is time) or friends. Revising in groups I think is helpful only once I've done my revision... no point in studying with people who know everything while you dont know the basics. Group revision I find helps me to work out what I have missed out or my weaker points.

And also find the best revision technique for you. (mnemonics, colour co-ordinating notes, highlighting, spider diagrams, recording your voice on tape and playing it while you sleep etc). I personally condense my notes into one word per paragraph onto coloured card and stick them around the house (ie toilet door, kitchen for when I'm doing the dishes, etc. It really helps.)

Hope this helps. Once you get into it, its not so bad. Good Luck!:)
