| i did my ba degree at middlesex so i can only speak for it. i was at tottenham campus but their a/c society was at enfield so it was awkward to get the time to get up there. i did have blach friends tho. if i hadn't got into brunel first for my pgce my second choice was london met. now i wish i had london met as my first choice because i am way out in twickenham and feel so isolated. i can count the black people on my course on the fingers of one hand.

Those people who say that there arent any black students in University should take a visit to London Metropolitan... The student body is majority black. I could probably say the same for the University of East London too.
Not sure about the others you mentioned Coltrane but any University in London is likely to have a large black representation there.

I am at North London Univeristy,
oh oops i mean London Jakes Uni its now called.
The uni isn't such a bad place and the peeps from all ends are cool like, but sometimes the uni itself can be VERY slack at times.
There is only one way to learn of handle uni lifestyle and not being babied by certain unis or being neglected because your Black.
Cool People!!!!!!

| That really depends on what you are going to study as some Unis are better known for particular subjects.

I am at London Met and while it is great for diversity and an exciting social life (if you're into that), it is difficult to to compare it with the others you mentioned as I don't know that much about them.
London Met has good rep carried over from Nth London Poly & UNL days for Social Science, Mass Comms, Architecture, Caribbean Studies, Computing and Business courses. It's not a bad place, the tutors I have dealt with have been ok,( but everyone has a different experience), BUT the admin seems to get more bizarre each year and you really have to check everything out for yourself and leave nothing to chance.
My experience here hasn't been bad so far, even though I had some 'dodgy' patches. Student services are very good.

| Do either one of you at London Met know what they are like with their PGCE course, because after Brunel it was my second choice and in my "lower" moments I sometimes wonder what might have been!! Also, does London Met have more than one campus and if so, do you know where the PGCE is done? Thanx! PS Brunel is also VERY famous for its disorganisation, so you are not alone!!

London Met has two campuses. City Campus and North London Campus. The City one has a few sites in Moorgate, Aldgate, Aldgate East and Tower Hill. North London Campus is at Holloway road station.
Dunno what PGCE is sorry

I think it means Post Graduate Certificate in Education. It is a course to go into teaching when you have aquired a degree.

Madam B
Just read your query. They do the PCGE at North Campus - Holloway Road, not sure about the City campus, but from the experiences of two people I know, don't be so quick to have regrets! There seems to be 'issues'. At least Brunel has a better 'rep' and is taken more seriously. Anyway, you haven't got all that long to go now, by the time you blink, it's going to be finished!
London Met is seriously chasing the international student market at the moment, they will be opening an office in Nigeria soon ( already have offices in Asia). But they really need to take care of more practical things at 'home', like upgrading the computers in the learning centre (posh name for the library), so that they don't collapse when more than twenty people are using them. Silly things like that.
Sometimes boring is better.

@All
Well people if the UK did cater for their people...................there would not be so much problems with Asylum Seekers, Unskilled young people and other things, but I do not want to change the conversation.
North London and Guildhall to me are still VERY different uni's and after speaking to some City students that are transferring to North Campus, it seems to North uni crew are more exciting, more spoken for themselves and have more fun than eing boring, not communicating with each other what so ever and having a computer mentality (work, work and nothing but work)!
Thats some of the differences I have heard so far....................
