hi. does anyone know anything about the univerisity of sunderland? and if so is it a good college in your opinion? i would just like to know what information anyone has about this college because i got accepted into this college and it seems to be a good academic place, but i am not sure. i don't know anything about this city, i have never been there, it seems to be o.k. but i am not sure about that neither. if you now something about this place that would be helpful, i would appreciate it. thanks.

I didn't know there was a university in Sunderland. What made you apply and gain acceptance and then start asking questions about it afterwards?

yes there is a university there. well i live in the usa and i have been to england but i never been to that area. and here in the u.s. i have started my studies but for many complicated reasons i decided to finish them elsewhere. i did my research about this university, and so far it seems to be a good place to study. and because of the location the cost of living is cheaper than in other areas of england. sometimes i like to get other people's opinions also just to give me some kind of idea as to what i can expect, because univeristies tend to make things seem so wonderful in order to get you to attend, so that is why i sometimes ask what others may think just so i can possibly get a more perosnal insight.

i applied to some other universities too but i am thinking i won't choose any of them instead because they are in location that i am sure will be too costly to live in and the tuition at the other universites will be more and they will gradually increase and i dont want to pay more than i have to. in sunderland the city is cheaper to live in and my tuition at that university remains the same.  well anywho, thanks for replying to my question.

Sunderland a few miles south of Newcastle.  It's in the north of England by the North sea.  That means it's cold and windy and bleak and there is not much to do unless you go to Newcastle on the weekends.

The University of Sunderland has a website I presume you have already checked out.

It's a relatively small town in a region where africans aren't that populous so if anybody from BN is from there I'll be very suprised.  Therefore anything we could tell you, we'd be finding out the same way you could.

hmmm... okay... why are you laughing at me?  :(  i guess it's not the best city for entertainment purposes, and maybe other things i guess. but i am not going there for that i'm going there to finish school.  yes i found it on that list and it is 92 and 94% of their graduates find jobs within 6 months.

my other two choices are the university of plymouth and nottingham trent university, but i think i am going to refuse their offers because the tuition and miscellaneous fees is too costly for international students and each year it goes up but at sunderland it stays the same.

i guess i will have to consider the factors that is used to rank schools. this reminds me of how the u.s. does college rankings. harvard, cornell, brown, california-berkely, yale, princeton, those are some of the top universities in the country, and on the world college ranking list, however, there are literally hundreds of universities in the u.s. that are just as good, and provide the same education. i went to Xavier University here in the u.s. and every year it is on the america's best colleges. however from my experience i got the same teaching as i did at my previous college before going there the only difference is that my tuiton and fees were sky high. and that is because i was basically paying for the name and reputation of the school, and now i regret my decision to have gone there. it cost me more money than it should have simply for a name and reputation and a pretty campus.

it is a good thing to have a good place to study, because yes there are some places that are not so good, however, there are places that provide the same teaching, education and are quality places of study, that won't cost your life savings. and i guess it depends on what is right for each person, i guess...

anywho, i hope i didn't bore you all with this, i just had a few questions that's all.
