nopes..........we don't even have weekend schools
but then blacks in UK are not collective in nature............most of us are punks and damn petty worry about damn petty things about who wines and dines who and who should recieve or give oral sex and other similar clap trap.
I have been breezing through ebony magazine.......lists and lists of black people achievements............by the time i finsihed read it pride was elevated......untill reality hit me and i had to walk down dalston in hackney and encounter pure coonery. Not saying USA does not have it's share of coonery, but they balance it out.
It will be a long way for us have our own shcools, universities etc........
and before people start talking about high numbers.........Bollocks the cypriotic greeks have their own schools...............hindus, sikhs, ortho jews, liberal jews etc
we just whinge......thats it WHINGE

there are weekends schools
there are many black saturday schools
as for uni's d not know have not heard of any but many do have african caribbean societies which many are linked somewhat

There aren't any nationwide higher educational establishments in the UK built specifically for Africans. 'Other' educational institutions may be found in 'Community' Halls.
BUT IF there are any buildings built specifically for and about Africans you can bet your life the majority of them will be in London.

There are plenty of saturday schools eg Afrika Bantu Saturday School in Tulse Hill whihc Kwaku formerly of Powerjam teaches black history on saturdays
Oh yeah I just remebered there is a black businesses directory already in the UK,
I was at my local library a few months ago, and whilst I was waiting to use the I just came across it accidently. It was kinda like the black version of the yellow pages. It comes out yearly and the new one should be available at local libraraies around now. When I saw the directory I tried to contact the people who published it via the land line mentioned in the directory however I had no luck.
A few months later I tried ringing the mobile number which was also mentioned and I got through to the brothers who published it, who are located in tottenham. It costs £7.00 and you have to pay for it via cheque
I have to warn you however when I flicked through the directory a few pages had soem introductory comments from ken livingstone, and david lammy which means that some of the businesses could be owned by the opertaion black votes definition of what a black person is.
For more info on this directory I came across contact the publishers at 07968535747 ( Studio 784 -788, Block 27 Unit G 10, High Road, Tottenham, N17 (SORRY IF THE ADDRESS IS A BIT MESSED UP, IN CASE IM WRONG CALL THE NUMBER FOR VERIFICATION)
p.s. this company use to run a website called uk black links which allowed people to locate black businesses by typing the postcode into the search engine.
THERE IS ANOTHER OPTION. Whilst reseraching I came across a african owned publishing company called Adonis and Abbey Publishers. They publish and sell books, and are located in London. Upon browsing the site I found that this company will be selling in January 2007 the " Directory of AFRICAN businesses and Organisatiuons in the UK" take note not BLACK, not MULTICULTURAL, not BME...but AFRICAN.

Bacoo: I think I can state with some authority that the University with the highest concentration of African Students is definately the University of East London. They also from my time working on that campus as an Activist have the most vibrant African Student society too... Unless the demographics have changed in recent years it had the largest overseas contingent of paying African students as well as Diasporran Africans bar none...

I went to Luton University.
Luton also has the highest rate of pregnancy the last time I was aware.........something about there is nothing else to do up there which is not undeniable. Boredom does become part of your personality if you let it.
