has anyone done a course with open university. i feel i have let some of my imagination go slack. i am considering doing either a masters or a small course with them.

just wanted to know people's thoughts and what experiences people have had with them

i will look at my local uni but im just looking for something i can do at home to incorporate my motherhood responsibilities

well i have spoken to them and their staff are so hopeful its like they want you to study. they advised their courses are designed around people who work and have family. plus if your on alowincome you can get financial support

the only thing is  i would need to do another degree and gain an honors with them in order to do a masters with them. i dont mind two degrees just means i got good brains

I know of some people who have done degrees with the OU and say it was a really decent experience and gained something worthwhile at the end.  They had really great stuff to say about the actual strucure of the course, the quality of the material, and even they way they had to go about it and the support they got.

I don't exactly know about the value (i.e prestiege) of an OU degree but I think they're worthwhile.   And I 'm guessing that your already established in work 'n that stuff and your planning to use it strategically for the skills, contacts and other things I can't think about right now.

Just thought I'd say this since the next academic year will be starting up soon.  I'm guessing that your gonna go ahead and study with them?

I hope, well not 'hope', but that's the only word I can think of right now.  Anyway try really hard, and I expect that if you put in all the neccessary work that you'll get decent grade at the end.

Don't want to say luck, but I'm hoping that  you've had some really good preparation beforehand.

I thought the OU takes longer than three years?

Except perhaps for the OU, I think there is a distinct lack of quality higher education distance learning courses. I also think there is a dearth of variety of courses. A chioce out of buisness or business related course and that's it. :(
