Exam stress... something i havent had the privelege of experiencing, but i always tell people a good way to deal with exam stress is to stop for one moment and think about all the people in the world. The people suffering in deprivation, struggling to get a meal, etc... and think of those who don't have an opportunity to receive an education, and then consider yourself blessed to be taking an exam. In that respect, you will start to see exams as a privelege instead of a burden...
Hope it helps,
Peace.

Thinking of that might of made it more stressful, because now I would be worried about how well I do given I should take full advantage of educational privileges.

I have often found that if you know how to do all the assignments leading up to an exam, and fully understand all the notes from lecture (or able to reproduce the concepts), then you will be fine. It could be different for me though since both of my degrees are in engineering...I don't know what you are studying.
Another thing to remember is that you certainly want to do well, but do not over-emphasize school. What you do in class is only to prove to future employers that you are competent. The most useful things I have learned for my career field has been outside of the classroom. If you remember this, it should alleviate some stress.
Whatever your field of study, I recommend getting some real world experience (even if it has to be voluntary, though paid is ideal). It benefits in 2 ways: 1) Your school work becomes much easier because now you have a practical perception of your assignments instead of purely theoretical; 2) It is what people really want to see on your resume/CV when looking for work...your school curriculum only gets you in the door.
Oh yeah, if I still find myself getting stressed, sometimes I just need to get away from the work and briefly spoil myself. For me, I love sweets and good food. I will leave all of my work, get something good to eat and a good dessert (preferably chocolate) to clear my mind. One last thing, good sex and a good night's sleep always relieves any kind of stress for me. Hope that helps...

Ms P.
The best way to deal with stress before an exam is to of course know the material, but also get a good nights sleep the day before (7-8 hours). Also, I don't know whether you exercise regularly, but a good workout right before the exam can definitely relieve stress and help your brain work better during the exam. Now if you don't work out regularly then a "good workout" might be about 10 minutes on the stationary bike, or 20 minutes of walking on the treadmill, but if you are used to higher intensity, then I suggest 25-30 minutes on the crosstrainer or 25 minutes on the stair stepper or 25-30 minutes running on the treadmill or the track etc. I promise it will relax you and get your brain working efficiently.

Go for a very long pensive walk- to keep my reasoning capacity functioning while cooling down
Play basketball - to relieve that stress and practice turning anxiety/negative energy into productive results
Hve a long phone chat with an old/good friend - to make me smile and lift my spirits

Thus dealing with stress while subtly helping to prepare for the exam
Peace

Hunger: If you've got the appropriate number of academic credits in the appropriate course pathway, you can shorten the process, depending on area of study to gain
a Masters degree.. without repeating or duplicating prior learning
in my example I would only have to complete a dissertation to gain the masters in my area of study.

For me its go down to the gym
Not for a sauna or steam (although I do like those once a week) but to push myself into that "zone" intense workout...Hard as hell..push till your running on "bullet time" (matrix) you will find the comedown off that is most relaxing and you will be completely calm and relaxed all evening

You must have a lot of college credits. How did you get graduate school credits before finishing your BA to be able to just do a dissertation for your masters? When I did my masters, some of my BSE courses counted in my masters program, but that was because I took some graduate courses during my BSE program. Anyhow, just curious...

| I don't allow myself to get stressed out during exams. usually when I study the material ahead of time as opposed to crammin, the results speak for themselves.

occasionally i do smoke.... *i think thats what you meant* but before i came to uni i used to smoke at least 4-5 S***** a day which totally messed up ma studies ((@YOUTS DON'T SMOKE WHILE STUDYING IT CAN MESS WITH YR STUDIES)) I would just lay around ma house doing nothing all day with frens watching mtv, rollin up a next one after a next one because i couldn't be bothered to do anything else . So i kicked the little habit and restricted myself to smoke when am on a uni vaction, Easter, xmas, summer etc, then i can really enjoy my smoke properly with some hard core drinking, YES ...mmm can't wait easter is so around the corner...

Oh dear...I guess you aren't familiar with all of the lingo from the States. When someone talks about "laying the pipe," they are talking about having sex. I would never encourage smoking. Never picked it up myself.
