I'm jus fillin in my Ucas form for next year entry. I've applied to the following:
-Loughborough
-Queen Mary's
-Brunel
-Royal Holloway
-School of Oriental and African Studies
Does any1 know anything about any of these universities reputations with black people? do they have black students? Did anyone go there? Any information would be really appreciated.

| I go to SOAS being the shcool of oriental and AFRICAN studies there are a few black people considering the university is so small. However there seems to be a greater emphasis put on arabs and asians than blacks in the university. They put on a lot of parties and invite a lot of guest speakers for these peoples. The African Carribean Society in the university needs to represent more as does the African society. Me and boys are thinking to take over one of the two this year to ensure we have fair representation at the uni. All in all the university is a good academic institution which will provide you with a good degree, the students are a little left wing and revolutionary but you get used to them. What are you studying?

| I want to study some form of economics, at SOAS i'm applying to developmental economics. What percentage of the uni's population is black (roughly)? and is it mostly guys or girls? I never knew SOAS is small though...

| I couldn't give you the exact figure but my estimation would be around 15%. There are a lot of older students doing masters as the university is so specialist. I would have to say there are more females and a lot of students are international students.
