Til the end: how old are you?
Whilst it is a skill to be able to connect with the youth, my advice is this, if the above is an example of how you communicate or write.....please don't bother to get into Social Work.. because it will be a harsh wake up call that you won't enjoy trust me on that!!!

Til the end: its really good that you want to do something positive with your life...I commend you.. I guessed that you were young by the way you write... Again not wishing to knock you but..you do need to be able to distingish better writing for your friends and writing proffessionally...
Remember that keeping someone out of trouble is NOT limited to the mentoring role, it also extends to talking other proffessional like Doctors, Teachers and lawyers etc..to do that you need to be atticulate in their areana as well as your own cultural areana otherwise you're not helping anyone..
My advice is try to get some paid work within Care on an agency, or join some voluntary scheme..You've missed the Summer play schemes unfortunately but you could plan for Easter...if that is your aim...basically try before you commit is my advice..

Hey it looks as if I have seriously neglected this post.
well for “ till the end", having gone through getting myself qualified enough to go to university and start my social work degree the only advice I can give you is this:
Not everyone is the same, myself I loved school college and will hopefully love university and can cope quite well in those environments. However everyone is not me or the same.
I have found that to get far, do the thing you do best, if you dont like school do the experience ie volunteering etc,or vice verca ( although you will need both)
im now just 19 and have found that im basically at the same level as my peers who didnt go to college. for the simple reason they are trying to get the qualifications down, were they have experience and i have the qulaifications but needs my experience.
so either way you get there in the end
if your thinking about volunteering here is a few places i tried in my cap year :
Sure Start
connexions
Princes Trust
neighbourhood nursaries
youth groups
community centres
if you need more info hit me up
