I aspire to be more than I was yesterday
that is what i was taught.
my mother whispered in my ear long ago
and know it lives deep within my thoughts
I grow everyday
I learn every hour
I feel every minute
I exist not to be but to live
I aspire to be more than I was last week
that is what i have learnt
My pastor professed long ago
it lives deep within my mind
I love every day
I hope every hour
I work every minute
I exist not to be but to live
I aspire to be more than i was last year
That is what i know i need
My teacher said this long ago
It lives in what i achieve
I breathe everyday
I see every hour
I touch every minute
I exist not to be but to live
I aspire to be more than my parents
That is what I desire
My parents instilled this in me long ago
It lives like the very beating of my heart
For i live to love everyday
For I live to feel every hour
And I live to make success of the experiences i inherit.
I exist not to be but to live
I aspire to be more
more than a single memory
but to be a single star in a neverending star system
where my star burns as bright as the stars i lay beside
where my star echoes upon the star behind to create a symphony
a symphony whose parts are written so perfectly that the perfect joy is found
I aspire to be more
more than whats normal
more than happy and joyous
where happiness can be understood, leant upon and supported
where what my fore fathers and mothers foundation has been built upon.
Where freedom is actually free...to live and not to be
