                                                   Shackles

The past is often the shackles which keep us locked up, forgiveness is the key which opens the shackles and gives us freedo, faith is the strength which helps us to reduce our fears, motivation is the energy which brings us through a tough day all of this power stems from Allah.

                                         Writing is the mirror

Writing is my mirror which reflects to me how I feel, like looking in the mirror you see the truth no false illusions, just like a mirror you can dettach yoursleve from the interior and look out on the exterior, writing is my mirror and my true reflection.

This is a lil something I wrote for my girl I aint no poet but just feel to express dis as it is raw and most importantly real.

It called flow:    I like it when you flow, like a torch in the dark you glow, your a positive person so keep that flow and of course always glow.

Yeah dis one is called the flame.

                                                    The flame

The fire burns melting the wood giving off the heat

they are a combination started off by a spark

the flame burns vibrantly at its peak

slowly the flame  rescindes until it no longer exists

all that is left are the ashes

which are treasured like those of a dead persons remains.

Peace dis one is about love, life and age you see the flame has it high points and low points as we all do and eventually it dies out like we all do.

Yeah I got a few more few dont mean to go over board just wanna express myslef to my:

                                              Black Queen

You are the female ruler of my heart

You are the fountain of inspiration which i drink from

your qualities are a treasure which are higly valuable to the black race

your beauty is physical and mental you challenge me more than any other

                           female

what does life represent without you?

                          life without a challenge

a tragedy shakespeare could not even write.

Before I get torn on this, this is just what i have experienced i know there are some bad black women, but i just wanted to express the the appreciation i have of my mum, sisters and my girl.

I wrote and lil something for an asylum seeker who did not have a passport but when he was granted one years, got to experience the world and see his mother once more.

                                                The passport

He had experienced war but never had the opportunity

to observe the beauty of the world

the passport released the shackles from his feet he was no free

to walk and explore the world

the passport was the wind which blew away the obstacles which obstructed

                             him

he cherised his passport like a priest would its bible

like a plant taking in light for photosynthesis for phyiscal growth seeing the

world gave him his spiritual growth

he travelled back home and stood in front of his mother

with the stature of gloath and the heart of David.

How shall I say: Please finish "Black Queen".  Very cool. You need not to justify...........

Why Ignorance Should never affect you

In so many cultures people are taught to be proud of who they are and where they come from. This pride can led to conflict as one cullture may believe they are superior to another. This conflict results in ignorance, rasicm and even some cases war. Ignorance is like being blind you are unable to see what is in front of you for what it really is therefore you take it for what your stereotypes percieve it to be. I do not respect ignorance but I understand it , I understand people are to narrow minded to think out of the box due to the fear of what they do not understand . If you have faith in what you believe in or who you are you would not feel the need to riddicule another person. Ignorance is stupidity it is as simple as that therefore there is no need for anyone to let it affect them. The way I see it is, that if you think like that I dont wanna know you and you are not worthty of my time.

Feeding

When you have a problem and you keep on eating away at it you are feeding it and giving it strength. It is like someone who is overweight that keeps on eating they are adding to their problems. I believe the thing we feed most is fear each day we find there is something to be afaird of, fear doea this and the feeding is what makes fear consistent. Feeding is destructive  fullstop!

Off sight...

Every thought drained out by this figure, whose only existence is not within my presence but my sub conscience. Conscious to create contact, unaware immune feeling that I deny and yet still prolong this liberation of self-healing. Counter acting distorted reflection with an exaggeration, but seems to be fruitless within its motive. Our mind inter connected in fraction and subtraction. Your conspicuous words marinate into my whole being, unremoveable neither to my need or sight.

Hi, this is my first time logging on to this sight, and i just want to say, that you have inspired me to find my inner being.  I was able to relate to the shackles poem, its when we look back at the past, and all the negativity, it prevents us from being successful, because thats our excuse for not doing well, all what we have in our hearts is hatred, hatred for the race, how we have been treated.  People need to look forward to the future, and make themselves proud, and say out loud I know I can be what i want to be.  Its time we stopped being statistics, and put our foot in the door.

every country as a ghetto and the UK is no difference, let me give you some few names Brixton, Stonebridge, Harlesden.... just the few. Would it shock you that we don't speak the queen english in fact the way most people is between jamaican, american, gordie, pigeon... all mix into one, but I do not speak to for everyone just from my surrounding, most people will differ

Hey wassup everyone, im new 2 this site jus been chekin out sum of the forums n that and this one looked kinda cool, sum of the poetry seems 2 b really inspiring and there really is sum amazin writing here, i jus thought id share this poem that i wrote in 2002, i neva really shared it with ne1, its jus kinda bout the way i was feelin at the time, it aint half as good as the poems i have read here in this forum but i feel 2 share it, i fink it was durin the summer holiday afta my GCSEs.

The poem was aimed at people of other races who stereo type black people, here goes, its called You Know I Hate the Fact

You know I hate the fact, that because i'm black, life must be different for me.

Peeps think i'm gonna do drugs,

They think i'm one of the thugs,

That's not how it's meant to be!

You know I hate the fact, that because i'm black, i'm seen as a theif in shop's.

"I just want to buy somethin'!"

Your eye's I see watchin', and never stopin' as you follow me around the shop.

Why open the place if you won't give me space?

Please excuse me for being of a different race!

You know I hate the fact, that because i'm black, you feel to catch joke off me.

"You wassup bruv, show me some love!"

"Innit man, where you get that tan?"

Come on peeps, your actin like sheep, callin' me your brother? dang i don't know your mother!

My words amuse you, but really confuse you, I say brother for a reason, not just to suit the season!

It's to show love for a friend or my cuz.

Martin Luther King chose to fight for the right,

That black people would live well day and night.

The hero acted fast,

"Free at Last"

Life's got better since.

King had a dream that he had forseen,

An equal nation, and good race relation.

Experienced many times, these thoughts I rhym,

But it may not be the same for you.

Racism must dissapear,

That means losing he fear

Martins Dream WILL come true!

Thats why I love the fact, that I am black and working towards the dream.
