Dear Dark Skinned Black women;
Here is why I think you’re the most beautiful women on earth..
Your confidence.
You walk like your nurturing the earth beneath your feet, and when you laugh… its like the stars celestially align and sparkle along your face.
Your beautiful dark skin. Beautifully smooth, warm. And tempting to touch.
I love you… dark skinned black women.
But I hate the way, some of you feel your dark skin is not a blessing to you…
Black is the most beautiful colour in the world, it consists of all colours into one.
Touch the colour black in your mind, isn’t it like silk to you?
Touch caramel?
Touch brown?
Touch Blue?
Touch Yellow?
It’s not quite the same… is it?
Pay no attention to the MTV. If it doesn’t pay any attention to you. Instead keep a lookout for guys like me, who’ll give you all the worlds’ attention to you.
Remember God loves beauty.
And when he created the first women she was as dark as the still of the night and as beautiful as the view into heaven itself.
And Nothing’s changed.
You’ll still that beautiful women.
And, I just wanted to remind you of that…

^^ ooh yea tupac was hittin on quincy daughters who happened to be light skin.
ooh yeah and tupac did have a white girlfriend for a while. he kept it on a hush tho. Have seen the pictures of both of them so this aint no he said she said thing.
They are hot dark skin gurls and they are crutters ones as well. same goes with every color.

LIGHT SKINNED people arent seen as black, you only have to read that Damon Daah's Wife Thread and see the responses
It is, and has always been 'fair game' to brash light skins in this forum. Personally, I think the threads shoud get the same treatment as interacial ones do

when I think thats a shame than any genuine lightskin person (no mulatto) should be made to feel the hatred that some (mostly women) put out about them on this site.
jeez this is 2k5 I though we would have movede away from this by now
and for the record I agree that light skin bashing should be banned from this site also.

This is the post I'm talking about. To a letter its 100% true.
Its like this a dark skinned brotha would say i love dark skin women, i am specially attracted to dark skin women and most people would see nothing wrong with that... but get same man say I love light skin women, i am specially attracted to light skin women... oooooo no he didn't say that, he's got colour complex, what a sell out etc...
Or you see a famous brotha with dark skin sista and you automatically go ahhhh how cute they look together, the fact that the woman is dark would actually be used by some as a seal of prove that they must do really love each other, but see same famous brotha with a light skin sista, you know you are guaranteed to have a few people question their union.

Yes my my poem was meant as a joke, but it no more insulting to me than having yet another ode to the Dark-skinned lovely thrust down my throat.
Its insulting to me that we live in a society where dark-skinned women are thrown the occasional poetic bone to be made to feel better in a world which loathes them.
Dont hate light skinned people,to do that would be to hate myself and some family members,my skin colour is comprised of 3 hues brown to light,so there has been some dilution along the way.
Anyway BP you asked where was the Light Skinned sister poem? I thought you were gonna write it...I waited and waited and waited..........and since nature abhors a vacuum , I just stream of consciouness,d one out for ya.
Yes it may have been slightly edgy,slighty satirical,slightly sh*te but its out there and I accept full ownership of it without apologies.

Dont think its OTT to say loathe BP, look how they are represented in society, media. Look how they are treated by their own men.
I agree dark-skinned women shouldnt need to have these poetic bones thrown at them, when they do, I believe it actually RE-INFORCES whatever insecurities they may have possessed, not bigged them up,which was probably the aim, but singled them out for pity because there has been on a conscious and subconscious level a complete shifted to the other side in so far as the beauty standard.
No BP you wouldnt feel the same as your female counterparts because you have not been rejected wholesale.You have representation positive and negative in print,films ,videos you name it and very few women of any colour would say they dis-liked dark-skinned men,whereas when the script is flipped you hear it ALL the time.

Not saying its ok, saying its understandable when there is a disproportinate amount of "love" given to a light skinned person based solely on their hue, not on the content of their character, their personality, their good works-just their skin tone and I think that is wack.!
And of course there are 1000,s upon 1000,s of drop dead gorgeous dark-skinned women, the fact remains is that to be a dark skinned a beautiful woman seems like some sort of freak occurance by black men, when in fact it occurs quite frequently.
I actually had one brother say to me"You know you are really beautiful for a dark-skinned gyal". Like my beauty was some sort of weird phenomenon?????
This ignoramous actually thought he was giving me the biggest compliment ever.
(Not actually relevant, but paints a picture-im the same hue as Gabrielle Union)
After I told him to f**k off out of my face...........well never mind we wont go there.
And you ask in 2k5 you would have thought we would be over this by now, if anything it has gotten worse and will continue to get worse.
Sit on any bus,any week day when the kids have been let out and listen to the chat-specifically the boys-about how they wanna chirps this light skinned gyal and how they wont go out with this so and so coz she is too dark.
This is 11,12,and 13 year olds, so I suggest to you that this kind of biased programing and thought process will be going on for generations to come.
