THE AFRICAN CAPTIVES SPEAK

where are we going? the coromantyne asks

what? i dont understand you are you from my people? the mandinka says in response

forget and move on brother. even though i dont understand you. have faith

why have these whites taken us? (coromantyne)

what will become of our people, our families, our ancestral lands?

will we have children in this new place?

will our people remember us?

will they remember these days?

mass kidnap

by people who despise our culture, ways and traditions?

what is this man saying? (mandinka)

I dont speak your languague?

i am a mandinka, i dont know of your people

but anyway

forget and move on brother. even though i dont understand you. have faith

i'll never forget where i'm from, this injustice, my peoples ways and customs, my humanity. (coromantyne)

my children and their childern will remember

man shut up! this is a new day (mandinka)

these whites have incredible powers

they are killing us in millions

i just want to stay alive

relax and

forget.

move on brother. even though i dont understand you. have faith

have faith

and

pray for me

and mine

i dont think i will remember anything

not a thing

and neither will my people back home

or my offspring to come

if i live to breed, like an animal

but you cant understand me like i cant understand you

sometimes been african isn't enough is it brother?

look at that ship passing by

its laying the first transatlantic telecommunication cable (1850)

i hope our children understand freedom (both men think to themselves)

Massa: Boy, bring your daughter to me tonight, 8pm prompt.  Be gone!

African: One day my people will repay you Massa!

Massa: What is this?  You dare talk back to me with such insolence?

Have you forgotten I can kill you so easily, boy?

African:  You have killed me already!

And my people will kill you.  The times are a changing.

Massa: Before I rape your daughter, again, and then put your head on a stick for your entire family to see, let me tell you your future.

My people control minds.

The reason so many of your people are in the Americas, making Europeans rich, is because we control minds.

We are already moving into Africa, to rape and steal, under the pretense of helping Africa.    We will rob and steal but more importantly control minds, making Africa ours.

Just like your daughter and her daughter will be mine.

You and your descendants will have nothing.

Even your names, will be our names.

Your history, will not even exist.  It will start with when you met us; the Great white western civilization.  You will worship our nations and the great things we have done.

In fact we will celebrate, freeing your people and your people will celebrate with us; because we control minds and until you regain control over your own minds, you will always be our slaves.

You will work for us, fight for us, kill for us, even want to look like us and be with us 24 hours of the day.

This is your destiny African; I see it every time I see Britain rise on the profits of your people’s misery.

I see it every time our ships leave Africa, filled with African souls that will never return.

I see it when poor white men come to the colonies and return rich on the wealth generated here.

I see it when you dare tell me about revenge when your life is in my hands.

Don't you understand, millions of people lived in the Americas before our arrival, they had continuous, advanced civilizations for thousands of years.  Now they are all dead.

And we are doing the same to you and Africa - it’s not a big deal to us.

African: So why don't we understand your people and what they are doing?

Massa: We have kidnapped millions of your people

Murdering them building our own industrial empire

We have taken away your knowledge of your own people’s histories ways and customs

We rape your women at will, for sport.

We mutilate your people at will, for sport.

We kill your people at will, for sport.

Yet you speak to us as though we are your people, as if we care about your humanity.

You fight and kill your own and then join hands with us as if we are going to give you anything better than we have in the past; you think your Master is your brother.

All this you never question.  You never question because we control your minds.

What is insanity for us is your mental normality.

And your people will remain in this state for centuries.

Now bring me your daughter.

As it’s your last day on this earth, you can watch. I will sex her like the animal she is.

Your offspring, both male and female, will imitate my sexual behaviors; bear my name, worship my religion, my gods, in honor of my power, in remembrance of me.

Because we control minds.

You, you will cease to exist, African.

Forever blamed for the woes of your people.

Blamed by us and your own.

That’s what we call, power.

Now that's ironic - I thought our current collective existence was proof that we have moved on......with no past in our wayniceone.gif

Besides, no past means no affiliation to Africa other than a cosmetic one - the perfect mentality for fueling the greed of the west.

"We should excuse our fathers if they appeared to have been swindled by the Europeans. Many of us, especially the immigrants from Africa, are also victims of Euro-American propaganda. We were swayed by the images of a paradisiacal Europe where streets are paved with gold and every white man is a god. We believed the smiling missionaries who told us tales about European hearts being filled with brotherly love and compassion.

How many of us would have believed that we are going to a society where human beings are only as important as their bank accounts? How many of us would have believed that in the European paradise, there are jobless, homeless, copeless and hopeless people? How many of us would have believed that Cecil Rhodes was not a philantropist but a pirate?

How many of us would have believed that in Euro-America exist homophobes, parading the streets with lynching intentions?

How many of us would have believed that Europeans, after all, are capable of lying?"

A philosopher once said if there is anything to learn from Europe then learn how much they love their own - The influence of Europeans amount to insignificance if we have a genuine love for Africa and its people.
