PART 1- THE UNVEILING:
BEST KEPT SECRET SHOW HOW IT IS…
The defining moment in the spoken word ascension has arrived with the merging of some of London’s most dynamic poets. The works of Amen Noir, shortMAN, OneNess, Tuggs.t.a.r and ShakaRa has much been admired in poetry circles and beyond as dynamic and visionary. The Best Kept Secret represents the exciting fusion of various spoken word styles. From the theatrics of shortMAN, word wizadry of Amen Noir, stage presence of OneNess, and rapid fire lyrics of ShakaRa and Tuggs.t.a.r. Each with an already wide following, the unification of their styles and fan base combined with their creative willingness to push this art to a never before seen level, has wet the appetite of those who have received tasters of the collective so far. From England, to Norway, performances with The Last poets and Dead Prez with dates for Sweden and Toronto scheduled for this year. The Best Kept Secret is set to raise the bar in performance poetry once again…. “They are soon to be a secret no more.
…AND HOW IT COULD BE
PART 2… TUGGS.T.A.R FOR PRESIDENT
Have you ever wondered what a politician would have to say for the black community to really put their faith in him? What would he have to know, what plans would he have to put forward to gain the true support and belief in the black community.
Best Kept Secret presents Tuggs.t.a.r for president, a visionary look into a world where politicians represent the will and concern of the people. After the last election, there was again a general apathy among the black community caused by the inability of politicians to adequately represent the genuine concerns of the black community.
Best Kept Secret present a play alive with story line, theatrical presentation, and analytical discourse all portrayed in the realms of poetry. Not only displaying a creative and imaginative approach to poetry, but also a political maturity not accessible anywhere else in the arts. Tugg.s.t.a.r runs for president and addresses the positive and negative concerns of the African British experience and links it into the global African community.
