Just when you thought you had seen the ultimate in performance poetry THE BEST KEPT SECRET has raised the bar on what is one of the most exciting events to ever happen on the poetry scene.

THE BEST KEPT SECRET consisting of shortMAN, Amen Noir, Tuggs.t.a.r, ShakaRa and OneNess. Having been heavy weights on the circuit since the turn of the millennium, while newcomer shakaRA has quickly trail blazed an ever rising reputation on the scene.

Ask anyone of the most talented poets, and you'd be hard pushed to find someone who do not include these five names. And far from being rivals, each poet admires the work of the other, and has quickly embraced the chance to work together in the quest for performance perfection.

They first came together at the request of poetry legends The Last Poets, who invited them individually to support their London tour in the winter of 2004. Have you ever wondered what a politician would have to say for the black community to really put their faith in him? What would he have to know, what plans would he have to put forward to gain the true support and belief in the black community.

Best Kept Secret presents Tuggs.t.a.r for president, a visionary look into a world where politicians represent the will and concern of the people. After the last election, there was again a general apathy among the black community caused by the inability of politicians to adequately represent the genuine concerns of the black community.

Best Kept Secret present a play alive with story line, theatrical presentation, and analytical discourse all portrayed in the realms of poetry. Not only displaying a creative and imaginative approach to poetry, but also a political maturity not accessible anywhere else in the arts. Tugg.s.t.a.r runs for president and addresses the positive and negative concerns of the African British experience and links it into the global African community.
