My girls will be called Carmen and Chenoa. I think they're beautiful names.
I love the name Cortez by the way..and Jordan, for boys. And Blaze too. I'd call one of my girls that, but change the spelling into the slightly more feminine version Blaise.
Oooh I want some babies now so I can name them!!!

I really like the name Adetola or Korede (Kor-re day).
Also I like the name Latif and Joshua for a boy. Can't give any of my children english names. Their 1st name will 100% be Nigerian.
I also love Segun (she-gun) and Tokunbo- my friends are called that and I think it rolls off the tongue easily, esp when the names are abbreviated likes sheggs or toks.
but having said that i also like the name Tosin and Gbenga (silent G), I've got friends called that and i call one Tosin toastbread and the other Bengoose.
Nigerian esp Yourba names are beautiful. not feeling Ibo names it looks like they have too many G's,W's to many chi's (kan mean)!

@ DM - I was talking with a friends neighbour the other day who's expecting her second child, never met her before, but she's the type that gives you their life story in fifteen minutes flat... if she were to do a Beckham and tori, her baby to be would be named 'behin'bushes'... classy lady!

If I have a girl, I'm going to name her MamieLee and call her Mamie for short.
If I have a boy, I'm going to give him a conservative name like Robert, John, Michael etc. because God only knows most Black men have enough problems trying to get by in America. The last thing my son needs is for me to bestow some crazy ass name on his ass.
HOWEVER, if (and it's a BIG if) by some miracle I happen to do really well as a writer, I'm going to go all out and show my ass (especially to those that don't like me, so they know what they can kiss.) I'm going to give my son a name thats out there (cuz God knows I will be, artisticaly speaking.) I have a lot of names in mind but there's one that really sticks out...PimpDaddy3000. Originally I was thinking PimpDaddy 2000 but 2000 is so pass`e and then there's Andre3000 but then I said to myself sh*t by the time my son grows up Andre'll be either old or dead so f**k him, PimpDaddy3000 it is. Of course you know I'm goiong to call him P.D. for short, I just like the way the name is going to look on the birth certificate. The name just speaks to me.
Before any of you feminists and socially righteous freaks get ya panties up in a bunch asking why would I want to give my son a name that's offensive to women or just offensive in general? Personally I don't see it that way. We have now evolved to where the word "pimp" can be interpreted in different ways. For one, it |
