I have to look now as my one is crawling big time, and will be walking within the next month, I'm sure (child too fas'!).

I hear Lindam is good for gates, so "google" the name and I'm sure you'll get results. Cheapest I've seen is £18.99.

I bought socket covers/door locks from Mothercare at £10, but Tesco did them at £1.49 each! Of course I got a refund on the Mothercare ones....

LD: to be very blunt...Stairgates is not one of those things I think you should cut corners on.....I'd get one of those gates that has the little door in the middle so it can remain fixed at all times....

im not cutting safety just ensuring affordability. especially due to the amount i need

i like the idea of the one that opens yet stays in place. though of the 3 i buy one must be flexible that i can use it in more than one place in the same day

the pressure i am under. i had some relatives namely granma and her friend and me aunty over mine. and grannys friend was in a huff cos my sn can reach the dials on the stove and yes that is danger.

he uses the stove as a lever to stand up. so i am constantly moving him away

i was browning the chicken for sunday din, so you can imagine how hot the oil is and my son was just busing himself round my legs and climbing up on the stove. once he knew i meant business he went to the other side of me. i had to throw him out the kitchen and close the door and listen to his tears. what was worst is that he is teething

mi na know how i manage date

but on the gates....who would have thought a baby that doesnt walk can go up the stairs.

i cant wait till i get my stair gates

Nothing would stop my first son...put stair gates up and he just popped them down...safety aside it was quite hilarious.

Biggest problem with them is that the are usually of fixed width and do not fit directly into the space you require. Even the extendable ones are too wide at their minimum width.

I bought the cheaper version of the one posted. It keeps my son away from the stairs. He likes to hold on a jump. I think it's his new toy!

I think the Lindnam one is good. you can get them from Argos. i got mines for £19.99
