Greetings Everyone,

It would be nice to hear how things are going with our babies after what seemed like the village baby boom so I'll start.

Well Baby Maat is 6 months now and getting much more active with hands and feet all getting involved knocking his food out of my hand while he's having his moments. His first tooth has burst through too. Apparently we shouldn't look in his mouth too much (not sure why) but the second seems like it will push through soon too. He's been rubbing his lip on the new discovery quite a lot.

He seems to always be smiling and even laughing now, usually at his sister jumping up and down in front of him. He finds it really funny...and you never guess what the first sounds (nearest to words) were....."heeeeyy". What have I done!

So how are the others doing?

Glad Baby Maat & BB's niece are doing well.

Baby Vee is now 10 weeks old and weighs a healthy 13lbs.

We have conversations in his baby language - I have no idea what I'm saying, but he seems to understand my gurgles & coos!

He loves the ladies - although I have to say he's not too keen on older, facially challenged ones! But attractive ones - he has a BIG smile!

Oh, and he's been married off to many young ladies as he's just too cute...but he's never leaving his Mummy.

@BB: Your niece is moving quick. I'm liking the vocab alreadyniceone.gif. She sounds like she'll be walking before 1. My nephew has started to brave the world of balance and is taking a few steps at a time. He'll be one end of next month so we'll see how he gets on. He has plenty teeth too.....in fact come to think of it your niece sounds like she's just cutting to the chase lol. "never mind teeth I'm talking NOW!". Save that video for her.

@BP: Thanks. I was grieving in a big way and had to go sit in my cave for a while. It's not just unu who have dem you know lol.

@LadyVee: Baby Vee is another one here on a mission like he's making up for the time he took to come:)..and bless him selecting his wife material already:shock:. It reminds me of one of my daughters' nursery friends who seemed to be besotted with her.

We didn't realize until his mum was hunting down "the parents" because he was always speaking of my daughter when he was at home. He chose her a doll when he and his mum were out shopping and brought it to nursery insisting that my daughter have it. When we brought her to his last birthday party his mum was relieved because she said it wouldn't have been the same for him if she wasn't there. Imagine that! Well it seems a wonderful friendship has come of it and I'll try and make sure she keeps in touch with him......

...keep the good news coming:)

Baby Day has grown so much he now weighs well over stone. he can almost sit up by his self. he hates lying down, he rolls onto his side he turns round he slides out of his car seat if unstrapped....he is quick wit it....he is busily talking away. when you speak to him he response ...full of smiles and laughter.

he eats food but only when he feels to. he still hasnt passed 5ozs

he grabs his feet and rolls anything he can grab goes to his mouth.  he doesnt seem to like other kids and prefwers adults. mmmm but he is happiest when you put him to sit up in the settee. cant seem to understand why his whole hand must go inside his mouth and then we he is sick all over you he has the cutest smile and squeel.

I just seen him lift his feet onto the bar ofhis playmatand kick it. he has yanked those toys off so harshly the bar is slightly bent, he even crawled so to speak on his back and came off the play mat

on his stomach he moves a bit forward untill fustrated then wails

he has come on in leaps and bounds. bless

God bless all the village babes

LOL I will do if I can get the damn phone to work :(

Although my neice isn't all sweetness and light, she likes to pull my glasses off my face...in fact the first time she pulled them off she was about 3 months old (she is quick that one!) Anyways this time I wouldnt let her and kept moving my face and do u know what the little beanhead done. She screamed in my face out of frustration and POINTED AT ME! Made me crack up...I think she will definitely have Terrible Twos.

Hey everyone :) just checking in for an update....the little man is 7 months now and his 2nd rice grain (tooth) is herebanana.gif! He's still chewing or rubbing his lip on them like he's got a sweet or something in his mouth and to see him eat you'd think he has a whole set!! It's going to be strange seeing him with more teeth after seeing him sporting his gums for so long LOL.

As for other progress his back is getting stronger although he isn't quite up right. His neck's much stronger but he's still wobbling if he tries to move his head too fast. His coordination is surprising me as the days pass. He has a car steering wheel toy that has a figure inside (representing the needle) that moves when he turns the wheel. I saw him yanking at the wheel trying to move the toy from side to side once he'd realized what happens when he moves the wheel. It's funny because you it's still fascinating to see how they learn.

He's using a lot more da da sounds too and isn't saying heeey too often phew!!  He does the da da's more when we're talking like he's in the conversation as well :shock:LOL......babies....

@LadyDay: How is the Baby Day's eating getting on?

@BB: How is your neice? I saw some little toddlers at a Christening this weekend soo adorable. Some are so tiny but walking around with confidence and dancing away like no one's watching.

@LadyVee: Has BabyVee still got you talking all kinds LOL? You are not alone....

Hey Sis,

Baby Maat sounds sooo cute - I can just imagine him with the steering wheel!

Baby Vee is 15 weeks now, but he hasn't been weighed for 5 weeks. He has found his hands, and has started to grab. He's especially fascinated with the pink hair net I wear to bed...he actually grabs it off my head!

He's very laid back, and when he smiles my heart melts! Luckily, it seems every time he sees me he has a huge smile just for his Mummy, and I fall in love with him all over again....

The only problem is he's still being sick after meals. The HV didn't think it was a problem, but I think I know why. I call him my Bulimic Baby, as he has a habit of sticking his fingers down his throat!! Even though we gave him the dummy, he still does it, and he's starting to find his thumb to suck.

He's taking an interest in the food we eat now, but the HV says he can't be weaned until he's six months! I weaned the last two at four! What do the other Mums think?

@Lady Vee - I weaned my daughter at 4 months and it was the right thing for her. I just tried my daughter with really pureed verions of what we were eating and she loved it, u could tell, the different textures etc.

I think u have to look at your child and decide. Its World Health Organisation guidelines that suggest six months. I think four to six months is okay. Plus if your other two were weaned at four months and are healthy then u really have to do what seems right.

Hi BB, getting bigger by the day I bet??

Thanks for the advice. He's 4 months old in two weeks, so I think I might start introducing baby rice this week, then take it from there.

@Lady Vee: Oohhh it makes me want to see all the babies:). The grabbing is dangerous isn't it! I'm having to make sure my hair is back because baba seems to think it's his reins:shock:....

It's a bit worrying to hear Baby Vee's being sick after meals though. Does he have a lot of wind that could be stopping it from staying down? As for the weaning, I think we started from about 4 months with baby rice. I haven't followed those guidlelines for a long time though. I find sometimes it makes more worry when really only the parents get to know what the babies will and won't take. If it worked for you at 4 months before then I'd say go with that. A lot of these guidelines are general and they won't stress how advanced our babies are in terms of development so we can sometimes think things are happening to fast when naturally for us it is happening as it should.

Yes, he is a windy baby, and when he was born one of the nurses called him a "pukey baby" so it's not unusual. I just hoped he'd have grown out of it by now.

I've decided to try him on the baby rice on his 4 month birthday, so we've got 12 days to go, and counting....

Maat it truly is fascinating when you see them work things out for themselves.

My neice has TWO TEETH btw!!! :D She talks A LOT and she has a pair of lungs on her-she is sooo loud. She loves to talk when she is eating, and she will stick her arm out and start moving her wrist around and around as she chews and talks. lol it is too cute. If she spies you with food-she wants some.

Though she is very strong when standing, and can walk holding on to things (i.e the side of the bed) she can't walk without support yet.

LOL I thought laang belly just ran in our house! Two teeth yaaaay at last. I bet she can walk really. They practice on the sly and when you catch them they start get shy and play like they can't walk yet.

My niece and nephew both just turned 1 and have been walking for about a month now. They look so dinky and cute...that'll be until they can reach things...then everything starts to get put out of reach. I'm sure all that time spent not being able to move is used for diligent plans for destruction of everytghing they can grab, dribble or pee all over LMAO.

So good to hear the little man is coming on well. Thank goodness his eating is better! Have you noticed him dragging himself more or pushing himself backwards? That's usually the start of the crawling. My sister laughed at my nephew when she saw him dragging but I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. They've gotta start somehow LOL. Baby Maat has been pushing himself backwards but he's not ready as much as he thinks he is!

I thought the hearing tests were done at the hospital before you leave or was it too early for him?

they have a hearing test during normal development checks aswell

he has been recalled...though they said they felt he was called to early. he can hear but started getting agitated. They gave him a Book start pack.

he sits up and bounces rocks himself forward. whilst sitting,...hubby said he grabbed the ice cream bar out of his hand when he looked away and proceeded to eat the wrapper. he caught him in time lol

ohhhh i like this thread. its good to hear about all the BN babies growing well.

Some will remember ages ago, i announced my little nephew was born. Weellll

he is 20 months now, running around laughing, playing, giving us all jokes. He only likes children, anytime he sees an adult, he doesn't really know he will turn his head in the other direction. But put him near another child, he will be hugging the child up like no mans business. The other day i took him to the park, and he saw another toddler about the same age as him. He got sooo excited, he grabbed the boys head. and kept hugging him. He hugged him so much, they both fell down. I had to take him away, and apologise to the mum.

He has about 6 words in his vocabulary, but the only one he will say is NO! He even says no when he means hello, so he needs to fix up! LOL.

But time has really flown, and he has grown soooo quick. Its wonderful to see.

Yes I remember your nephew! He sounds very affectionate I must say. LOL about the vocab. You find yourself testing them to see if they've learnt the correct words and when they seem to get it then say...No you're like Doh! My 3 year had me baffled for a while well after he knew more words because he would still just say no like it was becoming the default. I suppose they test you backconfused3
