I've known abut it for years but have only gone recently. Its a pretty good night. Good vibe, lots of pretty women for the guys etc etc
Was wondering if anyone went yesterday?
They had a gameshow, blind date, a poet, Gina Yashere and some white dude comic
Gina Yashere murdered it. As Usual!
As for the white dude?
He told one or two close to the bone jokes and some that were just racist
I thought Kojo took a big risk booking him because it only takes one person for him to get 'moved up'.
The poet was really powerful,aggressive and moving. The gameshow and blind date were good as well. Definately worth the £10 entry.
If you're stuck for something to do you could do a lot owrse than Cork's on a Sunday

He told one inappropiate( but I wouldnt sya racist #) joke about football
It went something like
'I was watching the football match between Egypt and Ethiopia. The final score was
Egypt: 8 Ethiopia: Didnt
After the game the Ethiopia coach says his players were not hungry enough to win.' ''Actually, I think they were''
I was shaking my head furiously but I have to admit I was laughing as well

Well I think the one about ghanian people just killed it, my friend went and we had a discussion about this, he said that black people need to learn to laugh at themselvs and yada yada, talking about how black people make jokes at the expense of white people all the time. even my own mum said the 'joke' the white boy told has racisal coontations it went something like
' the sun is out but i dont wanna be black like a ghanian' that really pissed me off. i have heard this goon b4 and was more than less than impressed. he also said he smokes weed and his dealer is in the room, but he cant tell as all black people look the same.

It sounds to me like the white comedian should have been bottled and run out of the place.
What would have been wrong with him coming there and making jokes about white people, or just general jokes... which had nothing to do with race??

the boy is a dickhead, his comedy isnt even funny, but bare people were cracking up when i was there

We are our own worst enemy sometimes.
We need to laugh at ourselves yes, but i don't need no white man having a laugh at my expense!
Most of the people laughing like sheep would have knocked the man out ifif he had said that to them in the street.

I don't see the need to even have a white comedian on the bill. Whites have their own comedy circuit and they don't really welcome black comedians. If they do allow a black comedian to appear, you better believe he's cooning like nobody's business - ie Lenny Henry et al. No disrespect to Lenny because I used to find him quite funny back in the day, just making a point.
Could it really be the case that there are no decent black comedians that could do with the exposure/work, rather than let this white bwoy go on stage and insult us??
I really don't get this.

they need to refurbish that broken down place and put air conditioners, rather than it resembling some underground den.
corks is an old establishment, it is probably the only black venues that has not closed or changed names since 1997, when my big sis used to go....i went , but no ..too old crowd.
