| 50 Cent is the minstrel to end all minstrels. I'm glad that Master P has seen the light. Maybe this and Russell Simmons thing will mean the beginning of the end for artists like 50 Cent and our humiliation for the entertainment of others. Funny how this person goes on to talk about rappers and then write..."our humiliation for the entertainment of others". Yet in a former thread involving an African-American radio host, this baby told me to stop with the Jew bashing; after I offer similar aspects of white Jews' behaviour, then she/he/ *it* went on to disrespect me like I nothing, insult my writing, then highlight like minds members:

Interesting how that thread on that African-American radio host no longer exist. So, I wonder does the act of shaming black folks routed for validatation purposes where 44 demonstrates personal feelings by practice of fostering hatred toward God's REAL Children, or does this humilation exist because this cat purpose is to used all methods of devaluation simply because SHE/He/ or *IT* is the Scum that has a death sentence sprialing over his head so engages in 'black work' until the END.

But Ladyz. . .how do I say this? We tend to share the same tendencies other non-"Whites" do, in that we see ourselves in the context of negative cultural traits. . .and are unable to see negative cultural traits within other groups.
We have to be "retrained" and "reprogrammed". Negativity breeds negativity. When someone sees a "Black" person engaging in negative behavior, most start to think of the "culture" that put him there. So we leave the individual to blame the culture. We claim the culture is negative and end up in a cycle. Where people produce the negative culture and then the culture makes negative people. It makes no sense.
We can only hope that "we" learn. Surely, we have some negative cultural traits. But "we" must choose. If we are a tightly-knit group of people, then we must act like one. Where a problem of one is a problem for all. But if we have fallen in love with individualism, then we must understand individuals can choose to be rappers, drug dealers, or whatever they want to be.
People have a hard time understanding culture. It can influence someone to do positive things or negative ones. But before it can work either way, you must accept each other for being members of the same group.

Shame people from outside the states can't sign the petition, was looking to sign up to the NAACP campaign.
Shiiiit, check the excuses 'bout shirts, no mention of any clothing lines or single parent families who can't keep tabs on their kids or even worse kids without families.

I'm really impressed by Master P's words as not too long ago I would have put in him the same category as that government agent, 50 Dense. Better late than never.
50 is a waste of space and probably the most culturally damaging rap 'artist' of all time, and it's a damn shame whoever shot him missed.

but this is a publicity stunt.
Master P wrote a similar letter and placed it in ads about 8 years ago. That time it was because of diss records initiated by Suge Knight and Death Row records.
Almost the exact same sentiment. The very next crop of albums he released , about 75% of the content contradicted what the letter wrote.
I don't think this letter is sincere. it sounds good....points out real things.....but I don't think P is really bout it bout..huuuh..
You disagree?.......look up Master P's latest album...and I'd bet that 75% of it....contradicts the sentiments expressed in this letter...

I am not sure what you mean. I understand your view. But my point was that we mostly talk about negative "Black" culture. Not positive. That is why we become "responsible" for 50Cent. Because we truly believe our culture produced him. But "Whites" don't lay claim to Paris Hilton, Marilyn Manson, or Jeffrey Dahmer. They lay claim to all positive manifestations of their culture.
I think sometimes we have to let things run their course, because it seems to be the only way we learn. If we truly believe in the negative power of "Black" culture, mayhap using that same logic we can get people to believe in the positive power of "Black" culture.
Mayhap, "Black" folks will start to accept an idea that Barack Obama forwarded, that he was a "Black" man culturally and that the culture "produced" him???
