Footprints, both songs are very lovely and fitting for such an occasion, however, should their song not be a song which is unque to them as a couple? Maybe the song which reminds them of that special moment they met/made up; finally realising they were meant to be?

Anyway, I have recently been listening to Seal - Kiss from a rose. India irie has a song on the Passage to India albulm - I'll find it and add it - I would love to hear this tume on my special day.

I wanted "Every Little Bit of my Heart" for my wedding, but my friend said it was too reggaefied....

I loved "Always & Forever" by Heatwave, but my brother had it for his first dance....:(

I settled for "Ribbon in the Sky"...love these lyrics:

Oh so long for this night I prayed
That a star would guide you my way
To share with me this special day
Where a ribbons in the sky for our love

If allowed may I touch your hand
And if pleased may I once again
So that you too will understand
Theres a ribbon in the sky for our love

Do...do...
Do do do do do...
Hmm hmm...

This is not a coincidence
And far more than a lucky chance
But what is that was always meant
Is our ribbon in the sky for our love, love

We cant lose with God on our side
Well find strength in each tear we cry
From now on it will be you and i
And our ribbon in the sky
Ribbon in the sky
A ribbon in the sky for our love

Do...do...
Do do do do do...
Hmm hmm...

Theres a ribbon in the sky for our love

There's a D Brown version too, if you want it in reggae.

Footprints,

I liked a lot of Michael Jackson's old hits. I particularily like " The lady in my life", but I must confess, I'm not an avid romantic. I just like the song. There is also a song . It's not ridiculously old , maybe like a decade or little more older , but the song is called " "Joy" and I forgot who sung it. I also like Shy with their oldie " If I ever fall in love again"Too bad they screwed up in their latter lives. I like a lot of Stevie's Oldie's( My Cherie Amor, Red Roses, just anything from him)

'Knocks Me Off My Feet' would be a nice Stevie track - his version rather than any of the covers.

Don't think this is well known, but a killer track would be Frank McComb's 'The Wedding Song' from his 'Love Stories' album. One of the best modern soul artists around... and brilliant live. I'd have him to sing at my wedding...

by

Richard Dimples Fields

It's the antipode to Billy Pauls: "Me and Mrs Jones" smoking-devil

Gene Dunlop: " Before you Break my Heart"

Brenda Russell: "In the Thick of It"

Frankie Beverly: "I can tell by the look in your Eyes"

Phil Upchurch: "If an when I fall in Love"

I love the oldies

Males:

Heatwave, Always and Forever

Joe, More and More

Stevie Wonder, Always

Charlie Wilson, Magic

Luther Vandros, Wait for Love

Females:

Patti LaBelle, If You Only Knew

Alicia Keyes, Secrets

Keyshia Cole, Love

Mary J. Blige, Love no limit

Etta James, At Last

There are at least a thousand more.  But I can't choose.  I love Patti LaBelle's gentleness.  But I like Alicia Keyes ab-libs and candor.  Mary J. makes you want to cry.  Etta James is a classic.  Keyshia Cole sings her little heart out.

On the male side, Luther's is a classic.  So is Heatwave.  Stevie Wonder has the energy.  Charlie Wilson's song has great pacing. And Joe. . .that is that candlelight music.
