UPDATE the story below is not confirmed - this could be part of the internet fueled rumors (which i helped to fan the flames) i'm sure we will hear more about this but for now no one seems to be sure what's up...either way we love ne-yo!
hey kids! so it looks like more people are coming out of the closet...hot on the heels of lance bass - singer/songwriter ne-yo has finally confirmed rumors that he is indeed gay! apparently rumors have been floating around the net for months - the full interview with mr. ne-yo will be in the upcoming october issue of essence magazine where he states yes, i am in fact gay, and i have always been

The newly famed singer/songwriter has come out of the closet and announced that he is gay. The multi-platinum recording artist sat down for the October issue of Essence Magazine last week and announced the shocking news stating, "Yes, I am in fact gay, and I have always been." After several internet rumors have been circulating around the internet. He also said, "You know this world we live in is full of judgement, resulting in one of the reasons why it took me so long to come out." Earlier this month, a man by the name of Derrick Johnson claimed that he had an intimate relationship with the singer during there teen years in high school. He also said that for months the singer and Def Jam has been trying to pay him to keep quiet over the ordeal. Ne-yo responds saying, that the relationship did occur and he is no longer ashamed of saying that he was deeply in love. Reciting "That situation was what inspired me to write the song "Unfaithful". But no one knew it was actually about myself, and our relationship." He told Essence that he doesn't care anymore, he was tired of living a lie and is ready to come clean. Quoting, "the music industry can either except me for who I am, or desert me." The full interview with the magazine is expected to hit stands mid-October.

@Incognito. well I wish you were around because we needed someone of your skills. Was doing some work on culture and homosexuality last year or so and my bredrin told me Fred me have something for you.
Went to his yard and he put on this DVD of a local dance in London my god I almost choked..Brother pure rough neck looking brothers and sisters straight from JA fresh hard face and loud talking etc. Listen, the place jam from head to foot with batty boys and girls. I would have bet my life they were as straight as me and you..if not rampantly heterosexual yard style.

Anyway Whitney has been gay from time and the fact that she had to surpress it the whole time is I think what has contributed to her being so f**ked up with drugs etc.

Yeah but usually when they try to refute rumours it only intensifies. It's better to just ignore and not feed into it because people will eventually know the truth anyway.

Singer Ne-yo Announces He Is Gay | Essence Magazine August 23,2006
The newly famed singer/songwriter has came out of the closet and announced that he is gay. The multi-platinum recording artist sat down for the October issue of Essence Magazine last week and announced the shocking news stating, “Yes, I am gay, and I have always been.� After several internet rumors have been circulating around the internet. He also said, “You now this world we live in is full of judgement, resulting in one of the reasons why it took me so long to come out of the closet.� Earlier this month, a man by the name of Derrick Johnson claimed that he had an intimate relationship with the singer during there teen years in high school. He also said that for months the singer and Def Jam has been trying to pay him to keep quiet over the ordeal. Worrying that it would destroy his image. Ne-yo responds saying, that the relationship did occur and he is no longer ashamed of saying that he was deeply in love. Reciting “That situation was what inspired me to write the song Unfaithful. But no one knew it was actually about myself, and our relationship.� He told Essence that he doesn’t care anymore, he was tired of living a lie and is ready to come clean. Quoting, “the music industry can either except me for who I am, or desert me.� The full interview with the magazine is expected to hit stands mid-October.

| I don't care if he's gay or not if he's got talent, he's got talent. I hope they don't destroy his career like they did with Tevin Campbell. Now that boy could sing, and I don't care if he was a screaming Queen, he could make some tunes!!!
