Absolute disgrace that Spike was snubbed!!!!! I did say that the racist academy would have heir revenge because he dared point the finger at  establishment racism and intent towards genocide. So there you have it. A bonfide masterpiece not even nominated!!! b**tards.

This is the world we living in. And just to  rub it in they would probably hand out gongs to forest, jennifer and Eddie..not that they dont richly deserve it, but just to  hypocritically make the (usual) political point about good N****rs will be rewarded, but bad N****rs get the lash.

It is not possible to discuss objectively whether Spike has been robbed unless you have watched the nominated films

I hear what you say, but when all the major critics are naming Levees a masterpiece, you have to wonder why a poster on Blacknet still has his doubts.

I hear you @ check. But maybe reviewers thought the other 5 were masterpeices. I don't know

I was hearing mad hype about Infamous. No noms at all. DiCaprio and Nickelson(spelling) was getting 'banker' noms for supporting according to the reviews. Snubbed

@ coltrane all those picks are too safe

I think one of Mirren/Hudson/Murphy will not be going home with a statue

If they do what they did with denzel then Peter O Toole is a live threat

Best Pic is interesting

I have seen The Departed, The Queen and Little Miss Sunshine. I will watch Babel and Letters this weekend

So far my pick is LMS

I have now seen 4 of the 5 performances for best supporting actress and I feel that Rinko Kikuchi's performance was the best one

Jennifer was good though

I have now seen 3 of the 5 best supporting actor ( Murphy, Arkin and Wahlberg)

What struck me the most is that there were more deserving actors ( Jamie foxx{Dreamgirls}, Steve Carrell , Paul Dano{Little Miss Sunshibe} and Jack Nicolson, Matt Damon{The Departed)

Be that as it may I will plump for Eddie Murphy

When was the last time we had an Oscars this...ahem*coughs* colourful.....was it 2004??..was that the one they called Black Sunday??

Anyway.....~I think the baggers predictions are pretty spot on for the main prizes.

However,I don't think J.Hudsons is an Oscar worthy performance..yes she deserves the nod,the nomination, but if she wins you have to start questioning what the criteria is.

Are they giving it to her because she had NO acting training at all and was able to pull it off?? or are they giving it to her for the "I'm telling you song" which is where she has to convey the most acting ability?...because scenes where she's not singing that song are alright...but they are not all that...so basically it's gotta be for that song.....which is irksome coz whilst J-Hud does a good job of it,hers it not a patch on J-Holl's my girl owwwwwwwwwwwns it and if the studios had gotten off their asses and made Dreamgirls the movie when J-Holl was young enough to do it,J-Holl would have been a lock!! and noone could even question it.

J-Huds nom, puts me in my mind of Jaye Davidson that man who played a woman in The Crying Game(with Forrest Whittaker incidentally)...yes Jaye deserved the nom but basically he'd be winning just because he had the innate ability to look like a woman and thats not really a stretch.

And I feel like J-Hud can sing and everything but she didnt literally rip her heart out during that song and make herself look completely vulnerable, desperate and pathetic the way J-Holl did.

Every time I see J-Holl sing this tune I just lose it,goose pimples, tears, the lot,J-Huds performance was mildly moving,J-Holls ruins me every time.

Here it is again if you've never seen it.

Lastly before I hit my pillow id like to see Scorsese win,not necessarily because the Departed was great but for his previous body of work which he has been overlooked for.

Also I really don't get the whole Leonardo DiCaprio is a hunk thing, the man looks like a squid.

The only good looking white man in all of Hollywood is Johnny Depp...the only one I would crawl over glass to get too....provided he'd had a bath and put on some decent clothes for a change, lol.

Supposed to be asleep now but I just saw Spike Lee and his wife Tonya being interviewed on the red carpet.....when asked about the awards Spike said well it's still Black history month so i'm expecting Murphy,Hudson,Whittaker and Beyonce...as a wild card with best original song...I didnt even know she was nominated for that, maybe she will win that so wont be too aggreived should Hudson win.

I tell ya what though Hollywood will burn tonight if Hudson doesnt win can you imagine the embarrassment if she doesnt?? everyone assumes she already has it on lockdown.

Just saw Forrest and his wife,he looks very handsome,he's slimmed down big time, she is gorgeous.

I dont like these 'locks'.  Its unfair on the 'anointed' one and also unfair on the nominees.

With Best Actress why have Winslet, Cruz and Streep even turned up

William Hill are already paying out for Helen Mirren. What kind of nonsense is that?

Also the same with Hudson to a lesser extent

I hope she has been ignoring it. There will be riots in the streets if she doesnt win.
