*The funniest thing is when you go to the Art Museum in Philadelphia, you still see dozens of jokers run up the stairs to do the Rocky scene... lol*

Let me bore eveyone with the myth of the the American and the Great White hope and dreams of beating the late and great Jack Johnson.
After Jack]Jack Johnson won the heavy weight champion of the world title White in the "Civilised world" were desparate to find another White to regain the title, up the myth of white supremacy. Jim Jefferies was the contenders name.
The Original Rocky Films are based around this myth of the "Great White Hope" using Race (indirectly ...................but almost overtly) or Political leanings.
Still makes for a good film.

| Ok just finished watching the film. This is simply a case of Sly Stallone having too much time on his hands, and probably wanted to see if "he still got it" for all the training he would have gone through. The film was written and directed by Sly, even has a cameo appearance from Mr Ear Biter Tyson. The actual fight scene is nothing to write home about, but then again you guys already knew that. If your the type to collect dvds then it's ok to have in your collection if u buy it cheap, if you can borrow it even better.

The original Rocky movie had nothing to do with Jack Johnson or great white hype, it was based on a Ali fight with an unknown guy called Chuck Wepner whose only goal was to last it out with the champ. Remember like Chuck, Rocky doesn't actually win in the movie.
