.....if you want to waste over £6 of your hard earned cash as well as two and a half hours of your life.
I saw this movie on pirate earlier and believe me I'm glad I'm not the one who paid for it. I didn't expect it to the classic 80s series any justice, but I didn't even think it was half way decent.
You may love it and think it's the best movie in Hollywood history, but I just thought I'd warn you.....
I'll say no more.

Those two were totally miscast, especially Colin Farrell. To be honest this film shouldn't have been made at all. Some things should just be left alone.
Hollywood has run out of ideas.

I didn't think I was giving out mixed messages at all. I obviously wouldn't recommend the film because it's totally abysmal and the money is better spent on a Burger King whopper meal or something.
However die hard Miami Vice fans will most likely go to see it anyway despite mine or any other bad review it gets. Some may like this film but I guarantee they'll only be a very small minority.

Banlieue 13...?! Yep, spot on there Prince H, caught the film in VO (version originale) as I'm in France. . . that IS a must see film - didn't realise it would be dubbed and released in the UK

It was an average flick. . .but Jamie is in it. . .and not acting like a minstrel. Kimberly Elise is simply gorgeous.

That's not a good enough reason to spend your money, however if it was a British film I probably would, since it's totally non existant here. An American movie, no.

saw it a couple of days ago, what a waste of money. Thank god i didn't pay the full price (NUS) but i was dissapointed. I only liked the scene when the guns were going off.
Colin Farrel and the Chinese woman???????
The ending????????
there was no climax in the film. I thought it might be something like Bad boys, guess not.

I saw Miami Vice this morning...  I'm not even sure what to call it.. it was totally unbelievable, nonsensical and poorly scripted.. for example they kept talking in abbreviations as if we, the audience knew what the hell they were talking about....WTF for example is an Op Sec?
They then started several trains of thought within the storyline, but then failed to resolve it...ie they have an internal leak within their dept, but it was never identified who or where it came from? To be honest this whole film was just a total mess, it did not have a start middle or even an end...it was in fact confusion set to music!!
Oh nearly forgot, the Black female lead..wtf was up with her accent? She spoke like an Italian, from Brooklyn, come on now it sounded really stuupid..

OP Sec is operationas Security or in US military terms Top Secret information.

Have you met Blacks who grew up in NYC or Boston? Trust me its real.I think Mann had to chop the movie up for the distributers.I bet a "dirtector's cut" DVD will flow better when released.

Well, I wasn't trying to get all that deep. I thought a lot of the stuff with Jamie and Colin was cool. The fronts they put up for their cover was cool. The rescue of Jamie's girlfriend (Kimberly Elise) was entertaining as well as the gunfight at the end.
Surely the movie was a standard Hollywood fare. But it was good to see Jamie and Kimberly opposite of each other. So much of the time, I must bear witness to bad relationships and bad things happening to "Black" folks, it was worth it to see them onscreen together in a different light.
I will also add, many folks in the Asian-American Community was fired up about the sex |
