Not speaking about force powers but who would win in a str8 up head to head to the death battle between the two? For example. The two dark Jedi stand befor the Emperor in his hidden fortress. "As you know" says the Sith Lord to his two apprentices. "Both of you have served your Master well. Both of you have mastered the ways of the Dark Side excellently! I can feel your anger...your hatred! But alas, there can only be one apprentice to the Dark side. Only the strongest can serve me now! Only one of you can complete his journey to the Dark side. The only obstacle which stands in your path of complete and utter mastery of the dark side his the individual that stands before you> Show no mercy! Strike him down and the true powers of the dark side will be yours forever!" Instantly the two sith lords ignite their lightsabers and...(What would happen?)
Me and my friends are arguing about this. We got a hundred dollars riding on this!

Vader no contest. He was the chosen one remember? Born of no father and all that....Beaten only once in his life by Obi-won.
Darth Maul was just Dooku's pupil. Sure he was a Sith Lord but Vader was ridicolous.

it's Vader!
He was almost undefeated and ruled until Return of the Jedi. He was always meant to be the central and supreme Force vessel. Even his pickney dem had enough Force genes to finish the wars.

| Vader would win. Maul, while good with the twin blade didn't use head much, which is why he got killed so easily in EP1.

Maul took on a Jedi Master and his apprentice by himself and killed Qui-gon jin and damn near killed Obi-wan dont sleep dont sleep on Maul!
not forgetting Vader was half man half machine, and significantly less agile

lol superman would win hands down
Hulk only get angry and throws tanks ect ect while superman actually had the power to make the earth spin backwards (yes I remeber the show) not to mention he got the lazer eye thing going on.

Yeah that is what I was thinking when I saw this. It is a hard call because we are talking about at the end of the third when they were just about equals.
Maul was a mofo in that he killed a Jedi master and would have killed the other if he had not been toying with him.
Vader was tougher in that he dragged himself out of the lava but then again he fought an even tougher Obi Wan that outsmarted Maul plus while not as agile as Maul, he could use the force a lot better.
Then again Vader did wipe out the Jedi academy and I am sure they had some older Jedi protecting it and helped kill Mace.
It would have been tight but based on anger and finishing a fight swiftly I would have to side with a young Vader.
Now an old Vader? Maul would not have stood a chance as Vader choked him with the Force while drinking his morning coffee LOL Remember how he choked the hell out of people in the Old Star Wars and snatched things from people with the Force? Maul would have been crushed LOL

No Darth Maul was actually Sidiois aprentice. The emperor as he was later known raised maul from baby to adult. And Maul almost killed...that is if we include EU, expanded universe.

He didn't wipe out the nearly depleted Academy alon. He had lika an army or, althouhg when fighting Jedi an army or to might not be enough.

Remember Safety no powers, only sabers
My points on these are Qui-Gon Jinn was almost considered an equal with Mace Windu...I am not sure whether or not people are aware that Mace Windu was the shizzle...and MAce would most likely kill Vader or Anakin (so would Doku too) in a straight duel without force powers (even then he might likely win). Maul killed Qui-Gon jinn so we can assume he is up there in terms of skill...but above all he was using an unortodox weapon...one which Anakin/Vader was far as we know never encountered. But then again Anakin did more or less kill Doku, although if I remember correct Doku eased up on the the dude because Sidious said so...and off course was double crossed...
Sure Anakin/Vader was good, but the thing is that he never reached his true potential before getting almost slaughtered by Obi-wan (am the only one that was astounded by the amount of Damage Anakin too, almost started to believe the dude was gonna die) although he did a good job fighting Obi-wan.
But would he win against Vader ?
No the script didn't/ won't permit that...
