| Brokeback Mountain will definitely win for something. I saw the movie and although it started off slow, it was pretty good. It is definitely a "typical" romance movie....in a sense. I have the constant gardener on my comp, but I haven't worked up the energy to watch it yet. This said for the fem who has a gazillion papers to write in the next month. Anyone seen it? Is it worth my time?

I looked in my crystal ball and consulted the stars before speaking with my grandfather through a spiritual medium in peckham and came up with the following predictions...
A bunch of overpaid overpampered ninnybrains will fawn over each other in fake celebration of the acclaim they jealously covet themselves.
Afore mentioned ninnybrains will parade down a red carpet wearing ridicolously lavish silly clothes made by gay designers they can only wear once and didn't pay for. This will inspire broke ass ninnybrains to adorn themselves with the label and logo (fake or not) of the gay designer in question in an attempt to be like the afore mentioned ninnybrain.
A movie nobody liked or enjoyed will win most acclaim for whatever political reason fufiiling the hype and fans will gush over the movie they haven't yet seen in an attempt to be on par with verbose commentators and critics...
At least one woman and two men will cry in a cynica attempt to make you empathise with them and like them. Remember what it is they do for a living...
A comedian noted for his daring movies or stage routine will host the show and be tempered with a neutral less offensive script to follow derrived from a team of 20 writers which will render it so dull four people will be caught sleeping on screen. A joke will be made about the biggest movie of the night and they will act out a spoof of this on stage. Of course it won't be funny but everybody will roar and chuckle in sycophantic laughter to appease the judges and fates... after they votes were in
This is my prediction for you.

Yes I am and unfortunately it p'd me off today and it will p me off for a long time to come. I wouldn't let it bother me if it didn't influence people but it does because I know more black boys will jump on the bandwagon of 'pimps are cool' and 'women are either b**ches or ho's' and it does affect me and other black women in our daily lives.

Been going off the Oscars [and other award shows] steadily for years. Could only be bothered with the highlights - and by that I mean what I heard on the news. Just wasn't interested this year. Once upon a time I would have stayed up all night to watch all five or so hours! Now it's just so yawnsome!!

I am not sure if you have seen GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK or SYRIANA which were my favourites did not win as the best picture but having said that i am glad that CRASH won since it was my third preference
Personally i think "Crash" was an actors' film (with a very large cast), shot in Los Angeles. And by far the biggest block of Academy voters are actors living in and around Los Angeles (Pasadena, Burbank, North Hollywood, etc etc).at the end of the day CRASH's biggest asset was its ability to give people a carload of those standard Hollywood satisfactions but make them think they are seeing something groundbreaking ..better than BBM ..which i think it was wrong calling it a gay film since i didnt see anything gayish about it

I thought the dresses were boring..
and why did charlize therone tell everybody reece was going to win the best female award that just ruined that award for me,like it was some passing the buck thing,beyond that it was just dry dry dry....
crash was a shock winner...but I did expect it to win something,hollywood loves the premise of "we r all racist" so I wasn't too taken abac that it got something..
