| I saw this movie 2 months ago in Canada and to be honest it wasn't worth all the hype......You can barely hear 50 because of the way he talks (and i'm not cussing him even the woman sitting infront said it) It does have some funny parts in it though........Ashley Walters aka Asher D......Bruv.......What was you doing?.....Where was you going wiv that fake Jamaican accent??.....A part from that the movie was aight I guess but nothing to write home about

| Even though the concept of hustle and flow and get rich or die tryin is similar, the deliverance of the story and the filming is better in hustle and flow. If memory serves me correct your the one that told me get rich or die tryin was rubbish, stereotypical and u could guess what was gonna happen from the start.

Both films are a waste of space IMO. Same old themes keeping black people in the same old boxes. 
We fight  and kill each other
We cuss 
We degrade our women 
We sell out completely for money then spend it all on junk 
We use the term 'sell out' on those who seek an education 
People 
If people would reflect more often on the struggles of our forefathers we would see a lot more positivity about instead of the mainsream buying into the so-called 'cool' of gangsta's. Gangsta is for punks and punks are suckas  (all yall gangstas can understand that right??)

I think that mainstream people are giving this film more credit than they would ever give a normal rap film(apart from 8mile ofcourse which had a white rapper) because of the director and story writer (both white),which begins to make you wonder what curtis jackson actually did in the film apart from act in it,they are selling it to the black folk like is a black film,yet it really isn't...either ways I don't think I'm ever going to see it in the cinema,the trailer was just tooo lame..although the actor that plays his manager is TOOOOOO HOTTTTTTTT 
mayb I'll catch it on dvd just to see more of him,DOES ANYONE REMEMBER HIS NAME?

Dudes name is Terence Howard and he is THE actor of 2005. He starred in everything. His work in hustle and flow was wicked, don't think any other actor could have pulled it off. And he must be the only man to get away with having a lap dance from beyonce, lucky b**ch 
Now I was watching an interview with 50 cent yesterday and he was saying the film is 75% based on his life. Regardless of whether he had a black or white director/story writer I don't think the film would have come out any different. For what it is the film isn't bad, but it's defo a pirate film flex.

hmmm Terence hmmmm...
But my point was nothing to do with how it turned out,it was just to illustrate that when white folks do things black people have done before it generally becomes huge,Eminen brought out curtis he hits the big time,Eminem raps it becomes mainstream music,most of the blues tunes only became big after white folks covered them. Even if the story was 80% about him,it has been written in such a way that he doesn't actually get much credit for it,its definately no Erin brokovich..but we'll see..Do you think it will set the Oscars on fire?
