More then enough qualified white actors to do the job. It just wouldnt sit right. I would like a black spy movie though, just soembody more relaistic, more covert

Some things should just be left alone.
A black Bond is as ludicrous as Tom Cruise playing Shaft or Lucy Liu playing Foxy Brown....leave tings how they are. I wish people would stop changing sh*t around...it's just stupid.

you are 'avin' a laugh! never happen, mate. maybe colin salmons character usually in the bond films could play in a spin off. that might work. main man? never. even i wouldnt wanna see ablack guy in THAT role just for the sake of it. seems to me that the producers of the bond film are making a right dogs dinner of a replacement anyway. first brosnan is coming back, then its suposedly daniel craig ( my choice, cos he looks like he could play a cold blooded killer), then clive owen( too wimpy looking), even talks in some quarters of robbie williams! ha ha ha at that one!
bad enough we got a black kojak now ( ving rhames). why make him 'kojak' anyway? why not a totally different cop? silly really.

| I felt the same way about that chick (Jessica Alba) in fantastic four. I guess I never was into Spiderman comics that much but FF and X men I was. If they made Storm white or Cyclops black or something dumb like that I'd NEVER watch it so I know what you mean....

Jessica Alba was woefully miscast as Susan Storm
They made the Puppet Masters (step)daughter black and that worked on a level, althugh I dont think kerry washington did that great a job
Would be interesting to see if they make the Puppet Master black. I reemmeber him as some short, unhinged old white dude, but I think an unhinged, old black dude could play it as well
As fgor Bond, Nah!!! But in saying that, its about time there was a black franchise movie. Nothing too taxing( leave your brain at the door movie will be fine , not xxx garabage, vin and ice cube  )You think about all the heroes /anti-heroes we grown with, you list the black ones, and you'll hear a pin drop

I cannot see it happening i mean you think the U.K government would allow a black man access to thier most top secret sensitive stuff?...nah ain't gonna happen....anyway we alresdy got one his name is Shaft! he had:
- Much better hours (you know shaft ain't getting up before 11am...especially if he's not alone..)
- Much better clothes
- Much better soundtrack
- Only killed people when he had to, the rest he just slapped and cussed out...
I mean you might see Bond have a black sidelick sometime but a Black Bond..i don't know too many white people paying to see that.

Hmmm, I get Boris Kodjoe. He has that suave James Bond look about him. On top of of it, all of the James Bond are from other countries. He's German and that helps.

Will the Next Bond Be Black????
Daniel Craig takes on 007 mantle  Daniel Craig was chosen from a list of more than 200 actors Actor Daniel Craig has been confirmed as the new James Bond. The English star of gangster film Layer Cake, who arrived at a press conference in London by speedboat, will play a tougher, grittier and darker 007.
"It's a huge challenge. Life is about challenges and this is one of the big ones as an actor," said Craig, 37, who will be the sixth James Bond.
He joked he "had a couple of Martinis" when he got the role. Casino Royale is due to start filming in January.
"We've got an incredible script and that's my first line of attack," he said. "Once I'd read that, I realised that I didn't have a choice. I had to go for it."
 Daniel Craig arrived at the James Bond press conference by boat He admitted taking the role was a big responsibility but added: "I've just got to step up to the plate and deal with it."
Bond was "a huge iconic figure in movie history and these things don't come along very often", he said.
Director Martin Campbell said the 21st Bond film would be "definitely darker, more character, less gadgets".
Craig told reporters: "Together with Martin, I want to make the best film we can, the most entertaining film we can."
The actor said he was not looking to redefine the role, but added: "It's a question of taking it somewhere maybe where it's never gone before."
Craig said he had received encouragement from predecessor Pierce Brosnan and had tried to think of it "like any other job".
He also admitted there was a danger of being "trapped" by being stereotyped in the role.
But he said: "I'm not allowing myself to think in that way. I'm thinking about the agenda ahead and the agenda ahead is to make the best movie we can."
Producer Michael G Wilson said the film-makers considered more than 200 actors from around the world over two years before settling on Craig.
Neither Q nor Moneypenny will appear, Mr Wilson added, but M will return. However, it was not confirmed whether Dame Judi Dench will play the spy chief.
Producers are now setting their sights on finding a female star to fill what Mr Campbell said would be the "best Bond girl part" ever.
Casino Royale will be an adaptation of author Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel, in which the spy was introduced as a more youthful and cold character than he has been portrayed on film.
"I certainly think it will be a little bit darker - that's not to say it won't have its sense of humour, of course it will have that," Mr Campbell said.
Mr Wilson also revealed work had already started on the 22nd James Bond film, which would be Craig's second as 007.
The actor's first major role was in the BBC Two drama Our Friends in the North in 1996 and he rose to prominence in Hollywood alongside Tom Hanks in Road To Perdition in 2002.
He has since played poet Ted Hughes opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in Sylvia and headlined Layer Cake, which co-starred Sienna Miller.
He is also to appear in Steven Spielberg's new drama Munich, about the Olympic massacre of 1972.
Craig will follow in the footsteps of previous Bond stars Pierce Brosnan, Sir Sean Connery, Sir Roger Moore, George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton.

Even before the announcement of Daniel Craig any blackman getting the role of Bond was about as likely as Bin Laden being the next president of the USA!

Let'im stay white. Who needs im.
I aint gon go on no tirade about this, Kunjufu is right htough. I may very well happen. But then, we have to wonder about why that is so culturally DANGEROUS for Black People.
See while most of us are thinking about James Bond as a media icon, we are not looking at it from a social and political context. Is it worth it?-Sure is.
Kojack, eh-I can take that. Kojak was white, hung out in the ghetto.
But James Bond, remember IS LOYAL TO THE CROWN.
So that raises a hell of a lot of questions about context. Forget about content.
Here we go again-we look at the picture, not the person.

i do have this slight feeling that being German doesn't help at all
A black James Bond would surprise the world, but a German MI-agent would provoke rages in the streets and terror attacks on cinemas in the UK.

Lol...some people's need to see black people on telly is just plain silly! First off all, will all this AA actors be able to pull a FULL POSH English accent??
I can't see Will Smith pulling that even if her went back and did a proper advance crush course at RADA, and Boris is NOT black, the man is mixed and if he was to play as a black man, then we would be a laughing stock to the rest of the world(its all good for you AA to continue that stupidity, but do remember that there are other black people in other part of the world who don't abide by the one drop rule!) Oh and me thinks the ex model would have a hard time pulling it off because he is one of the worst actors i have ever seen, and he looks too gayish!
So i guess the answer is NO, we don't need a black bond because not only is it unrealistic, but we don't really have a high profile black actor who can pull it off.

I think Colin Salmon could pull it off. He's doing alright for himself in films. Or Chiwetel Ejiofor (both of whom are lovely!  )... I don't see why there couldn't be a black superspy - back in the day I Spy was successful (although admittedly the young and spy Bill Cosby had a white partner, and it was TV). The only problem would be having the decent material that the investment (whitey) wouldn't be able to change [suddenly supercool superspy is the wise-cracking side-kick to Clive Owen or something *shudder*]... I'm trying to be positive...
