Part 3 ruined the continuity.  It made no sense.  Skynet was destroyed, the man who dreamed it up was blown up, the company who secretly kept it was blown up and the last unit was melted down.  All gone.  The cop out was weak as hell and annoyed me massively.

Actually there is an interesting paradox I noticed in part 2 but let slide because it was a good movie.  Did the original idea for the design come from Miles? (The black engineer dude).  I ask because the was the history which was stored in the T 800's said he did.  But he said he developed his ideas based on the recovered arm they found from the T 800 in part one.  Remember that one?  Sarah crushed it in the machine.  Anyway my point is, If Miles got his revolutionary ideas from the arm from the future, and that arm was based upon his revolutionary ideas in the first place?  Who originally had the revolutionary ideas?

Anyway the biggest cop out on story and bullsh*t excuse for a sequel based on terrible science was Alien ressurection.  Absolutely stupid!

The alien is a parasite that resides within the body.  Like a tapeworm for example.  If I had a tapeworm in my stomach, and cut my legs, you could not under any circumstances find DNA material from that worm in drops of my blood on the floor.  It is incredibly DUMB and I felt insulted.  Foolish notion.

As for cloning embroyos of a hybrid and fast growing them to maturation in incubators FFS!!  The flim just got more and more ridicolous.  The the normal Alien Queen breeded somehow (we are supposed to infer) with the Ripley cross to have another cross with was just plain silly nonsense now.  I was ready to leave the cinema I swear...  You get a higher calibure of sci fi in a bloody cartoon!

Alien one was a masterpeice and two was a great follow up.  3 was boring but at least it made sense.  There was no excuse for ressurection.

IMHO Alien Resurrection wasn`t a bad movie. Sure the crits didn`t like it, but Alien3 was a right dawg but nobody wanted to slate the new wunderkind David Fincher. I saw the first Alien back in the day and was blown away by it in a way that I had never before or since. Aliens was a masterpiece for a sequel - a truly great movie that comes just under the chin of the first one.

Alien Resurrection brought dark humour, a street vibe, and a certain Gallic falir to the series, while Alien V Predator was just a lot of tosh. Hope that Ridley Scott director of the original will decide to make the prequel that's being talked about. Would make a fantastic movie..why did the Alien ship land on THAT planet, who was aboard, where were they being taken , and that massive cavernous ship, what was it like on board. Wonder which part sigounrney weaver will play in the prequlel? Fascinating.

Overlord.

That would be a good movie.  But post apocaplyptic scenes of robots killing people are a bit passe now, especially after matrix.  Nevertheless I'd still watch it.

Alien 3 in the prison was boring but at least true to the story, not complicated and sensible.

Alien 4 abandoned all sense and it was the poor science which annoyed me not the film per se.  It was as bad as crossing a sunflower with a dog and making sunflower dog babies which fly... stupid stupid film.

Alien vs predator was ok, I would just have liked more beef is all.

poor science?

:?

Man when you start off with a creature that has acid for blood, this is not science fiction but fictive science. After that, anything goes.

Well you have to suspend you disbelief and enter the realm of sci fi anyway but good sci fi is still within the bounds of possibility.

Acid for blood is not that far fetched, think of eels or jellyfish with organic batterys inside them.

It was the level of fanciful crap in part 4 I mentioned which annoyed me

this was a classic case of hollywood ' watering down' a great character and premise to make more money. first we had terminator 1,(18) a great little sci fi chiller, sparse, gritty and menacing. tough as hell. t2,big blustering summer blockbuster that was let down by its premise ( a good terminator? gimme a break). good film though. then we have t3 ( 12!). with a terminator about as scary as dot cotton, lots of action, but not enough violence for a film about a relentless killing machine. i stopped following the plot after t2, but somehow t3's ending didnt make any sense to me.since everything in society is about 'strong women ' nowadays, they ruin the film by making the main protagonist a small framed woman who looked ridiculous throwing giant arnie around. enough already. the franchise is ruined. terminators 1,2 and 3 ahould have stayed 18 rated.

so from 18 to 15 to pg12. what next? a 'u' certificate terminator where he squares off against a murderous 'robosapien'?

HERE IS SOME THINGS IVE FOUND OUT THAT MIGHT BE VERY INTRESTING:

In the second film, we are introduced to Cyberdyne Systems, the company which created Skynet by studying parts from Terminator.  However, in the original timeline, someone created Skynet, and it was most likely someone else, someone who was very near the technological breakthrough when, in this timeline, the system goes on line.  So now the dates are all shifted earlier, and the company credited with the development has changed. The Terminators sent back by the original SkyNet may have been created by someone else, but as Cyberdyne takes over that technology those in the next timeline are built by them and sent back at the same point in time to do the same tasks, but with a different memory of their constructions

Sarah didnt not stopped the war.  She merely created a new timeline.  The company which originally invented Skynet will have invented it on the original schedule.  The destruction of Cyberdyne and the original terminator will have only shifted the construction of Skynet back to its original timetable, unknown to us but undoubtedly slightly later.
She may have also changed her information.  In this timeline she by destroying Cyberdyne has thrown Skynet back to the unknown company, but the sequence is again forced to repeat itself.  Just as in this timeline the Terminator has no knowledge of the company who would have developed Skynet had Cyberdyne failed, so too the Terminator who returns at the end of this link would know only that Sarah Conner destroyed the wrong company:  it was not Cyberdyne but its competitor who created Skynet.

I agrea, finding out more info on the time machine would be great for a 4th. the war in the future looks rough. fighting against all that technology, how do the rebels have the strengh to hold the robots at bay and protect the time machine? a 4th would have to be about the future. we know enough about the past.

It's not necessary.  They screwed things up big time with T3, they now need to leave the entire franchise the hell alone.  The fact that the director of T3 is doing T4 says it all. bigno
