Folks here in NY watched the preview showing in movie theatres and said a load "Hell no!"
Dont know a single black who'll go and see this crap.
The line in the preview goes 'some things are thicker than blood' and showed the 4 (2 white 2 black) so called 'brothers' together and the whole movie theatre roared with black folk saying stuff like "Da-yam, you KNOW im not seeing that... (cuss)!"
NOT a popular choice.

just saw it, good film
Was disturbed a bit by Bobby Mercers use of the n-word and his general demeanour. The guys come into a basketball court, holds up the play, with 1 gun.
Not meaning to be stereotypical but a basketball court, in a black neighbourhood, in detroit and nobody got a gun. Ehh nah. i said to my friend even if this was in Peckham he woud have got popped
I think Singleton was wrong to allow wahlberg to call that guy a house N****r, even though he was
He also called Angel and Jeremiah( Tyrese and Andre respectively) Nitro and midnight when they were fighting and told tyrese that the spanish chick does not want his 'black ass'. To be fair, apart from Ejifor he was the best charcater, but he would have been great even without this
Just what was singleton's game here. And that bent cop was so bait its untrue. Plus the women would neevr get kiled for something as circumstancial a sthat
Chiwetol Ejifor was very good in it but the ending was a bit blahhh. He went out like a wasteman
Terrence Howard was good but he ending was even worse. Did he think man was just gonna let him get away without shooting

When I saw the trailer for this movie, I knew I wasn't going to be wasting any time in the cinema watching that garbage. If I'm going to watch a film called Four Brothers, it's going to be about four BROTHERS.

Pay attention people.
It's close to election time herein the States.
What's going on with Singleton is not something I can determine. FOUR BROTHERS is 180 degrees of HIGHER LEARNING, and from all the hype the formaer has gotten, it appears to be more of a race-mixing propaganda film if you ask me.
With white folks inter-culturalizing with Blacks lately, once again, it appears as though the perpetuation of Black as something that is not altogether BLACK is the norm. I've been saying this as long as I've been on Blacknet. If you haven't gotten it by now God help you.
Look around you. More and more of us have gotten comfortable with bi-raciality. In fact we've gotten comfortable with integrating with everyone but ourselves. As a result, we are becoming lighter and lighter without necessarily casting off who we are culturally. Again-I've been saying this for a long time.
The scheme here is to replace who WE are with what THEY look like.
There may be some of you here who are service men and women. You may be soldiers-But what do you really know about Military Science, the art of War and how many ways there is to defeat the enemy.
Instead of going to see FOUR BROTHERS-Go see SKELETON KEY.
Then maybe you'll get it, and it's odd that this film got lots of raves but far lower ratings. Singleton is trying to send us a message.
I got the message right away.
