i thought overall crash was good, but most of it was typical. sandra bullock's character was pointless. dat scene where she hugs the maid made me have no sympathy for her. i thought it was cool d scene wid the puerto rican and d kid where he thinks she got shot, dat was probably the most moving part, but hey i'm a girl, u know. i thought ryan phillipe's character was good too coz i was hopin he would turn out to be good but it jus showed ALL WHITE PEOPLE R EVIL!
jus jokin
dey can't b trusted doe

I watched it & it's interesting to see how many barriers there really are..of course they didn't show all barriers...but I liked how the characters were linked...reminded me of the 6 person theory....
Tackling racism?...hardly....just bringing it to you in stereo....

| I think this was the any film but the Gay writer or cowboy film vote..........on reflection we should have expected this moral America voting for a film celebrating male love not a chance in hell...

I dunno, IMO the pimp song made a mockery of the entire awards. I say F*** the oscars now, I've just about had enough of them.
But Crash is one of my all time favourite films

I think it was engaging and well done. Albeit, it taught me nothing I didn't already know, hence many of us here felt the message was redundant.
I think the feel of the message was more teletext than in depth, more snapshot than detail. It would only be jarring to the white, liberal-guilt, middle to upper class viewers who had never given their own racism a thought. Those exist a-plenty.
Any depth of examination would have to come from an African scriptwriter/producer and company, not Hollywood.
The ensemble was good and, strictly as a film, it was superb.
Besides, me likey Don Cheadle

Its one of those films that will have you thinking about it days , even weeks after you see it.
All of the cast had issues.
I feel they should call the film America cause the way I see it the film was about RACE in America & the way different races are percived.
It should be called A Day in L.A. , because it is a cross section of race relations in Los Angeles not America as a whole.
Here in metro Atlanta, that incident with the Black couple and cops probably would not have been played out, as with the cop murdering the balck youth for pulling out a religous icon.

Your review was spot on.
Its foolish to expect a person who is empowered by racism to ever produce an authentic critique of racism. The film is great entertainment but teletubby morality.

I agree. Liked the film but it's not one of my all time faves. Don't think it's a classic either. Still, quite interesting for it's different perspectives [all LA USA, notwithstanding].
