Ummmm
I guess we all will go to see this.
But
I just feel they have the wrong man at the helm of this movie.
Im all for a brother being given a chance to direct a big film but the Fantastic 4 !!!
The only film he has done of any note is Barber Shop !!!
I dont know.
I hope im wrong.

so the guy is black
I sw him formt he back, and thought a black guy given a chance , heavy
Tyhe I sw him from the front and couldnt tell what he was. He has a peculier skin colour( not trying to be controversial)
Anyways, the film should be good
But
Jessica Alba as The Invisble Woman. Hmmmmm

just seeen this flick on the clearest best sounding bootleg copy you are ever likely to see. good points:
1)thing character. great costume, personality spot on. best thing about the film. if you have read comics for as long as i have, you will be familiar with the ben grimm' trenchcoat' and hat.
2) same for the torch character.
3)better than daredevil/hulk/punisher.
bad points
1)more the mtv route and not the reverential slow buildup , epic treatment given to heavyweight superman/spiderman/batman
2)that guy from 'nip/tuck' playing doom?? wtf. he was pathetic. guy supposed to be foreign with a american accent. guy has no prescence. no acting ability......
3)that brit guy playing reed richards ( i aint even gonna pronounce his name). a personality free zone.
4) ditto for jessica alba as sue richards.
5)the film just wasnt ...i dunno...epic enough hence the short running time
6)the effects for invisible womans forcefields were just 'messy' and ' ragged' and looked like cheap dr who effects.
7) we never got the famous fantastic four ' hands on top of each other' show of solidarity which they did a lot during their comic books. that would have been a nice touch.
these are not 'bad' points, just things i think would have improved the film for comic book readers like me.
despite the above though i enjoyed seeing the book bought to life, and newcommers will enjoy the film. its good. me? i'm just being picky with details after reading the books for over 30 years.

Isn't the director of this film the same person who directed "honey" and had Jessica Alba as the lead in that,so it figures that he would want to use her again, she spoke of their "close" friendship in the out takes of "honey"

Saw the movie earlier with the missus...
It was ok but I felt it could have been a lot better. It had it's moments but it's one of those movies that makes you feel unsatisfied when you walk out the cinema.
I'm too tired to give a full review right now, but I feel ya better off waiting until it comes out on dvd (to rent that is). Hope the sequels will be better.
6/10

I was so not impressed. I just reached back from it... Nothing happens for most of the movie which was a failing of Hulk.
Where Hulk tried to hard to be deep and moving (and failed miserably) Fantastic four is just a bubblegum pop movie. It's very childish...
Way too much boring stuff going on and not enough action, the action that was there was OK not spectacular.
I think it was a so so movie... would have been better off watching madagascar. Might go do that later actually..

Hotep,
I saw it because I was a serious Fantastic Four comic collector when I was young. It was just ok...they made it a family movie and I wanted lots of fighting and things blowing up.

Beware of bootleg DVD's! Man somebody gave me a bootleg Barbershop 2. Whoever was recording the movie (using camcorder at the cinema) was moving around and you could hear them eating popcorn. Plus the picture and sound quality suck.

Problem was the budget was limited and the screenwriters changed so much.

Yeah I know what you mean I got that on my copy of Kill Bill , but Blakrussian said it was the clearest best sounding bootleg so its worth a try if he shares his supplier.

You know what, I'll change my over generous rating of 6/10 to 3.5/10!!
I just remembered....how the bloodclaat did all the astronauts get blown away by the cosmic storm and then in the very next scene wind up back on earth again in a hospital??????
Either that part was way over the head of a mere mortal like myself or that has to be one of the biggest goofs in cinematic history.

GARBAGE! AGH!
Stan Lee should never have endorsed or even allowed this film to be released. I don't know what the directors/writers were thinking when they created this crap. The least they could've done is a little background research on the comic serial before writing their own screwed up version of the story.
And also could've had a decent special effects budget. It doesn't seem as thuogh any effort went into making this film, and that the producers were in a rush to get it out. So where the fun of watching the FF in action should've been was replaced with a lot of bad acting and hackneyed storyline.
This film was not worth the celluloid it was printed on...

I figured that-And exactly why he should not have made the film. If he didn't know he should've asked someone to advise him, esp. Stan Lee himself. Apparently he didn't do that and wound up making a film so bad that it is not likely any other writer/director will want to follow up. Worse, he's done himself in as a responsible director.
The Roger Corman movie was better than this one...

Saw Fantastic Four last week Sunday.
We originally went out to see The Skeleton Key only to find out we were a week early - so picked the first film that was showing at that time, feeling hot and stupid in a long ass queue.
What a waste of my time and money, should have gone straight home instead of feeling pressured into watching a film I knew before seeing was going to be sh*t - my sister was cutting her eyes at me through the whole film as I'm the one who dragged her out the house to watch this sh*t - I just had to keep smiling and pretend I was enjoying the stupid film, I was using a far superior form of acting skill than the people in the actual film.
Anyway............plot what plot? Someone explain to be what the metal guys problem was the the FF? What were they fighting over, it's not like Metal Man was trying to take over the world or anything - please do not tell me he was vex because Invisible Girl was in love with Stretchy Man - that was dumb. Why did they keep cranking up loud rock/punk music everytime Fireman did anything?
Fight scenes were back in the day Superman "..................lets spin Mr Evil Metal Man around in fire until he melts................." - Oh please!!!
Then the final insult - " .........what is that noise coming from the container....................maybe Metal Man is not fully melted" - that had me kissing my teeth all the way to the car.

I liked this film. Enjoyed it. It was ok pace, funny in parts and sets up the next 2 nicely. They got all the relationship issues/ background info out of the way. the next two are gonna be hot movies hopefully
Cule of points
How on earth did they get home after that cosmic batterng
why didnt reed richards think to check on Dr Doom seeming as though he was in the cosmic storm as well. It appeared to completely not cross his mind that he wpuld be effected
How did ben Grimm figure out how to work out the machine, he is only a pilot
how did the machine still woprk after dr doom put his hand in there and prety much put the power levels throuh the roof
How come they made Dr Doom so deficient. As a villain he wasa wasteman but he certainly isnt in the cartoons/comics
Do they really expect us to believe that Reed Richards/Sue Storm were college buddies
Aside from those niggles, I enjoyed it a hell of a lot
note
Kerry Washington and Jessica Alba. DAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thatssome human torch level of hotness
