1) Heat - IMO, absolutely the best shootout scene of all time!! I was blown away (No pun intended) when I first saw watched it at the cinema. It felt like you were right on the street with the sound of gunfire echoing of the buildings! And it went on for like 15 minutes!!
Oh, and get the two disc edition if you don't have it!! Classic movie!!
2) New Jack City - When the mobsters were trying to kill Nino and the rest of the CMB after the wedding. When the mobsters drove away in their van I loved the part when G Money was running down the steps and firing his ammunition at the mobsters all on his own!!
3) Belly - LOL I know, crap movie. But when rudebwoy Lennox grabbed the AK-47 underneath the sofa and started licking shots at his would be assassins that part was just heavy.
4)Collateral - Tom Cruise wiping out virtually the whole Korean mobsters in Club Fever then finally killing the boss by shooting him twice, reloading, then shooting him again.

Scarface - The Last Scene
"Okay! You wanna f**k wid me!! Okay, you wanna play rough!! Say hello to my liddle frien'!" Tony takes out his big gun and blows a hole through the door. Runs out and starts killing man like it's ants he's stepping on.
That last scene absolutely makes the film. The way he kills about 80 man before they kill him and then he topples over the balcony and lands in the water below... and the music. WICKED piece of flim!
Don't wanna hear how overrated the film is, THIS IS A BAAAAAAAAAD MOVIE, especially how it ends.

@Prince Hakeem peace bro. Only one film and one film alone. Classic and a must for the Video collection. "Harder they Come".Scene when Ivan had enough and come to claim his tings after they steal his money.....
Backdrop Ivan walks down the shanty type alley pass old wood and zinc house
Approaches the house and kicks in the door and says.....
"HEY RUPIE ME COME FI SHOOT YOUR RASS CLAT....."
CLASSIC
Imagine telling a man what your intentions are of that magnitude. Kills me everytime.
"HEY BOY ME COME FI KILL YOU..."
And when he does fire the gun as my brother says he "fling shot" because when you check how them man is holding and firing the gun like they are thowing stones and the way the are ducking and diving while bullest are flying and probably killing innnocent people.
Then at the end when our heroe Ivan is trapped by god knows how many police then he says
"Eh Sargie send me me a man who can shoot straight and come one by one....
Going out like a real rude boy. And then he bust a pose like him bad man death stance. Telling they will never make a film like that and probably can't.
Greatest piece of Caribbean film ever classic on whole heap of levels in terms of the orgins of the rude boys of West Kingstons to the precursor to the possies of Jamaica. Serious piece of history and cinematography and well acted realsitc. But jokes from start to finish.
@Apart from that must be the "Untouchables" and that elevator scene. Simply rude.....wicked moves. Andy Garica runinjg tings..

You see now when we TALK about BEST flim shoot out....it has to be the WESTERN SHANE.....how can one surpass the MIGHTY Jack Palance...he is the blue print for the BADBWOY......original
Check out the scene last reel style....after my bwoy Jack palance dun shoot man calling him a coward...Shane comes in the last reel to tek revenge..
So my man deh Shane steps into the saloon and step up to the bar...turns and stares at Bad bwoy Jack gunslinger sent to run dem goody two shoes out of town...
My bwoy jack get up..who tell him to get up...and start flex...the dialogue goes like this with both men posturing and the camera focusing on head shots..
Shane...I hear you are low down Yankee liar...
Palance..(steps flex and reach his gun,)
Camera slowly fixes on his face (palance) purses his lips and says in a low but deliberate voice ...'Prove it"
Next ting now man dem start twitch and Jack gun gun down...
actually now that i think about who can discount the other Bad bwoy deh bot' Clint Eastwood in 'fist full of dollars' (i think)
Clint Bad bwoy deh bout' comes riding into town wid his Donkey, eediot bwoy dem shoot up at the donkey's feet and scare it making Clint fall off
Clint gets up dusts himself off, and approachs the three/four men laughing HARD...
What Clint now..'My donkey don't like that, in fact he takes that kinda personal.. I think you ought apologise to my donkey'
At this point the gang laugh even harder..
what clint now, jusa flex, he flicks his cape over his shoulder, exposing his guns and jusa shape to do sumting.
Gangs face change...before them can tek set, Clint shoot aft everyone of them ..that style man..

By far the best, but quite unrealistic.Being that no police helicopters were on the scence to trace the bank robbers initially.
Though not a classic shoot-out.The opening scenes onto Omaha beach must be view on a set with a home theater.Really brings a battle into your living room.

| speaking as one of the few women likely to answer this topic, and as someone who really doesn't like shoot em up bang bang type stuff, I would hae to say Queen Latifahs last scene in "set it off", when they think she's dead but she starts the car up again and keeps coming. i think someone like Tracy Chapman was playing in the back ground of that scene. will have to watch it again...

How about the other speghitti western 'The GOOD, The BAD and THE UGLY , with Lee van Cliff, Clint Eastwood and the other bad bwoy character whose name escapes me now...that whole flim was full of lyrics..
when eediot boy catches 'UGLY' exposed having a bath..and then starts chat foolishness 'bout how long he waited to kill said man, bout how he is going enjoy killing him yadda yadda yadda...next ting, UGLY shoot him dead with the concealed weapon in the bath..
UGLY: next time you're going to shoot, shoot don't talk!!!
Or the scene at the end of the Flim when all three square off for a THREE way shoot out..the music, the faces and the tension how can you say this Flim aint bad...

equililibrium had one of the best gun fights ever.
scarface the last scene.

and of course the matrix cant belive no one mentioned that.

THE GOOD THE BAD THE UGLY
Last scene is one of my favourite movies scenes EVER. THAT is tension right there... drama... The music was spine chilling and the EYES lol
HEAT was heavy too and yes Tony Montana in Scarface went out in the best blaze of glory ever seen.
Soul Machine
Equilibrium gun fight was UNIQUE Ill give it that. Never seen anything like that before and yes it is up there with the best. The Taye Diggs was dissapointingly easy though LOL

The DeathWish movies had great shootouts.By Death Wish iV it became camp and unfunny.
Tom Cruise's "The Last samuri" had some great shots in slow mo.

Do you mean the last scene where EVERYBODY dies? LOL... now THAT is how to end a movie!! That is how a MAN's movie ends LOL No walking into sunset, no cheesy kissy happinness... be REAL. It's a war and everybody must dead.
Resovoir dogs as well... all standing about pointing guns at each other. Funny!!
The funniest end to a movie I saw was some WW2 movie, cant remember the title. These two British POWs break out of their prison and go on the run. The movie gets deep into their characters, their wives at home, touching stories blah blah blah... you start to feel for these guys and want them to make it. They go through so much trying to get away.
Now the allies and soviets are pushing towards Berlin (this is after D-day) and the guys are on the run... They have killed some German soldiers and stolen their uniforms to get past the patrols LOL... you can guess the rest right? As they are fleeing the town which is coming under aerial bombardment they face little resistance from the Germans who are busy fleeing themselves. The Allies roll into town. The two guys get so excited that they run out with a white flag in front of a British tank... the young British soldier shoots them both dead in a flash and says something to his colonel about crazy Germans... then the credits roll!!
I was like and Is that it??

The Best Shootout scene has to go to John Woo. In the Killer the scene in the Church is absolutely SICK! Also in his movie "Hardboiled" in the Tea House the Shootout scene is spectacular.

One of the first DVD's I purchase when I made the switch. There is a blopper that's funny if you catch it.When Morgan Freeman and the rest of the regiment enter the town and the slaves come out to greet them.Several of the "slaves" have on wristwatches.

ive heard some rather mediocre suggestions 2 say da least. i herd some1 mension da last scene in scarface & im like 'dat aint a shootout, dats a massacre' also herd some more respectable suggestions, but in all hounesty der is jus 1 winner - by far...
MATRIX 1 - DA BALCONY SCENE (DUH) (im hearin bare nighaz in da background goin 'oh yea!')
dat scene was revolutionary - not only is it da 1st time u c wot bullet - time is all bout, but wen u 1st watch matrix and u c neo do dat acrobatic duck to dodge da agents bullets - dats wen u know he is 'the one'
and in da lobby jus before dat - WHOA .... u c neo walk tru da metal detectors den dat dumb arse guard is like ' u got ne metalic objects?' den u c him open his cold black jacket to reveal man was packing artilery.... ITZ OVA!
MATRIX 1 - LOBBY&BALCONY SCENE GR8EST SHOOTOUT EVA
