spike lee grew tired half way editing that film. The first half is terrific, but then when we get to the point where denzel starts playing both women it gets pretty laborious. but there is a lot to comment it - in fact its the best movie about jazz i've ever seen..the score, photography, colour, camaraderie.....and individual scenes are just brilliant - spike lee confronting the piano player for bring his white woman to the dressing room/samuel l jackson torturing spike in the back of the cab/the mo and josh scenes (hilarious)/ lee cycling with denzel washington/wesley snipes sniffing his sheets...oddly the film's  key individual scenes are greater than the entire thing lol

Did you know that Cynda Williams who played Clarke Bentancourt  was married to billy Bob Thorten?

Also the soundtrack is really good, especially the song "Harlem Blues".
