I just got through watching Coming to America and thh film was killing me with laughter from the beginning to the end. i was thinking this is defo he's best film then I thought all his other dope films, Tarding Places, 48hrs, etc

So my question is,

1. Whats your fave murphy film?
-Mine's Coming to America

2. Whats your fave quote/scene from that film
- I like teh barber sho scene when they talking boxing

"Oh there they go. There they go, every time I start talkin 'bout boxing, a white man got to pull Rocky Marciano out their a--. That's their one, that's their one. Rocky Marciano. Rocky Marciano. Let me tell you something once and for all. Rocky Marciano was good, but compared to Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano ain't sh--."

"He beat Joe Louis' a--!"

"That's right he did whoop his a--!"

"Joe Louis was 75 years old when he came out of retirement to fight Rocky Marciano."

"I don't know how old he was but he got his a-- whooped!"

"Frank Sinatra came down and sat in this chair and I asked him "Frank, just between you and me, you good friends with Joe, how old Joe Louis is? Frank Sinatra said just between you and me Joe Louis 137 years old."

"Man you lyin, you ain't never met no Frank Sinatra!"

(...)

"F you! F you! F you! Who's next?"

Also, the trading places inside joke was absolutely fantastic. . I've seen CtoA pure times and only the last time did i realise that that was duke and mortimer that he gave money too

Any replies will be appreciated !!!!

Yeah I would have to say Coming to America too. At first I was caught between that and Raw,but later thought about Raw as just a stand up on film but it was funny. When I first saw Coming to America I realized that it was Duke and Mortimer that he gave the money to. Actually, they were supposed to make a Trading Places sequel but one of them died, I think is was Mortimer. I could've seen it going something like, Duke and Mortimer return as stock moguls and Eddie and Dan get put into the poor house; somewhere along the line Duke makes a comment about how Eddie looks like that guy that gave them money and Mortimer mentions how all black guys look alike.

Coming to America no doubt.

When Darell the SoulGlo dude comes by the house after Mr McDowell has found out that Akim is the king... he slams the door in his face... a few times.  Darell goes round the back to sneak in the sisters window and she says he better take his shirt off he's all wet... He looks at the camera,  THAT had me bussing up!

The song when they present Akim with his bride in the beginning "shes your queen to be"

Trading places is definately second best though.  That's a funny film too.  Dan Ackroyd as the arogant spoilt rich man is too funny.  Too good at it LOL
