I am a big fan of Davidsons books, particularly recommending to people for introductory/reference reading.
They make for vey easy reading and he gives good reference sources.
Those of you over 35 must remember his programme on BBC (I think) on African History mid 80's?
Definately on my recommened reading list. Despte the difference in politics.
