Apedemak; Thank you for your posts.
Your effort seems to be to get Blacks
To get out of the self-imposed shell of
Thinking of Black History as being about
Sub-Sahara Africa and slavery, when in
Fact as you seem to know, that is a very
minor part of cultural Black History.

I note that at this time there are no replies to
Your posts other than my own. I think that Kind
of makes my point. Perhaps in time Blacks will
be able to expand Their horizon.

But, I would like to take issue with a few things:
I found your use of the word Negro troubling.
Negro is the Spanish and Portuguese word for
Black. In the recent past this term was preferred
By confused Blacks to describe themselves because
The connotations of the word Black were so painful
To them. (Personally; I always found the use of the
Word rather pathetic). Happily most have gotten over
that, and are now somewhat comfortable with the
word Black.

However; as evidenced by the hip-hop culture, the
Cultural meaning of the word still eludes them. They still
Think of Black as being about the raw, the crude the unrefined.
This from the people (racially) who invented civilization and
Refinement. The fact that they could think that way only points
to their ignorance. Perhaps in another four hundred years that will
Go away too. It might be that what you are doing will shorten
The time.

Another problem is with your post of  Nadrat Siddique’s
Article. I do understand that he was trying to be nice, albeit
In a condescending manner. But are Blacks in this modern
Age so culturally starved as to be impressed by Rashidi’s
asking the old men (the Elders) permission before he spoke?
I am an old man, and if faced with such gratuitous bull s**t
I would be immediately suspicious of the person’s credentials.
He was not speaking to a tribe in central Africa, he was speaking
To students at Howard University. Hopefully by the time he had
Finished his presentation, the students understood that Black History
And afrocentricity is about more than Sub-Sahara Africa and slavery,
And that Black awareness is not about wearing a uniform.

Lastly, there is Nadrat Siddique’s condescending inclusion of
Blacks in Muslim genealogy. That was very nice of him, but I
Think that he got his facts a little backwards. Of course this is
Only possible because Blacks are so gullible due to their woeful
Ignorance of Black History. Though it is true that modern people
Who call themselves Arab are NOT Black; they are Turks, Greeks
Romans and various blends with Black. That was not always the case.
Anyone believing that White or light skinned people could possibly
Have evolved in the Sun burnt deserts of Arabia – I got some land
That I want to sell. Apedemak you might want to checkout this site
It’s about the same things that you post on. Keep on keeping on!

Seem like here in the states Black History is all things from American slavery to present. Introducing the topics of Afrcians enrages some, Ive seen people come to blows in public Black history month events over this.

Good post.

Dear Apedemak,

I find your historical articles and graphics to be very intriguing.  I was particularly struck by the the post on Africans in Japan.  But what is the source of this radical information.  Who is Marc Washington?  Where can I tap into this goldmind of research?

Lest my intentions be misunderstood, I ask as a student seeking knowledge and not as a cynic in disguise.

Thanks

Holla!

Neferkare are you teasing Apedemak?
If you’re not, then you have one hell of a way to seek
Knowledge. Here is a heads up for you; the first order
Of business is to read, then follow leads. Knowledge
Will not come looking fore you, you have to go looking
For it.

The point of all this is that there is nothing new about
The Black original civilizations of China and Japan, or
Many other places for that matter. But in your rather strange
Quest for knowledge, you neglected to note and follow
The link that I included in my post above. That site
Happens to have many sections on the Xia and
Shang of China and the Jomon and Ainu of Japan,
As well as all the other Black original civilizations
Of the world. Except for the Gauls, I have seen nothing
There on the Gauls.

One last thought; it only seems radical to you because you
Have believed every single piece of Bull that the white
Man has handed you, since when has he been your best friend.

You may wish to begin your reading here:

http://www.cwo.com/~lucumi/runoko.html

Also, although I do not agree with the tone of Jim999's post nor the severity of it, You should do some running around on your own. Take a trip to your nearest African (black) bookshop and simply ask for books on the origins of civilisation. You will not find anything radical you will find the truth. Anything that mainstream caucasian media and acadamia put out as truth should be scrutinised and labelled not research by reputable sources that actually tell the truth.

Its not easy to belive, wouldn't expect anyone to read into it and take it all on theres a whole heap there and its not easy looking at our current situation at the same time, theres an 'if we were then, where are we now?' question either that or an inferiorty complex that needs to be ironed out, that one cuts deeper than we all persume. Its only when looking directly at our contribution to the world that things start to look diffrent, get the opinion that we were brought to the ''europeans'' countries so they could take up on our culture... so they could learn from us and have us work for them albeit in a demeaned state... like a parasidic relationship while we suffer from collective ammnesia brought on by a fasination of ''their'' technologies lost in their twisted versions of religion they're using our past, the knowledge of the Ancients to their advantage.

I mean, the Moors brought them their numeric system... its that bad. Gotta watch that program I posted on here, before the Moors the europeans were using roman numerics which is rubbish when calculating large numbers, the Moors brought the europeans the numeric system we all use.

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9

Not to mention Al-gebra, Al-Khem-y, Khem-istry, geometry and a whole heap of things most people seem to think is inheranty european or some part of history we missed out on.

We also miss the meaning in;

''The origional inhabitants of the planet''

What it means to be the first peoples who migrated from Africa all those years ago and the culture we brought with us, why the folklore of diffrent countries are essencially the same but with diffrent characters in diffrent roles. Seeing the tribes as a bunch of people who can't string two words together, thinking evolution has to do with techology, fast cars, big guns and fast paced CPUs when evolution is far more personal than that. Even reading into Bantu folklore (Credo Mutwa) and noticing how its so much like ''Greek'' mythology, gods who have no qualms coming to earth to mess around with people and having human like problems and issues.

Spanish women dancing around like Arab/Far Eastern women denying their culture .lol.

Thanks for the link Ras. Have bumped into that site a few times before Jim99 its intresting, same we ae too busy grappling with poverty to take up our culture and remember our past, would make for some intresting discussions. Nothing wrong with being a skeptic Nefer its good to approach things with a slight doubt in mind, it helps when you have to clear things up for yourself to understand rather than take things on at face value. Its all there but its in pagan form, it just needs to be understood... E.G; Festivals at the same time as a Jewish one, rituals with meanings that relate to one culture or another and so on. Its like someone took apart the building/s but the foundations are still there in the language, way of life etc and as time has gone on they've developed to include new things or have mixed with others whilst keeping the same foundation. The martial arts thread is a good example.

Dear Jim:Triple-Inverted-Six,

A wise professor once told me that you can always tell a secure man by how he talks about his possessions.  If he boasts, condescends, or belittles those whom he believes possess less than he, he is almost always insecure about being what he wants everyone else to believe him to be.  Moreover, ancient Chinese wisdom says, “A wise man know much but says little while a fools knows little and says much.â€?

Still your condition is not unique, but rather a prevalent symptom common to many Africans who post in these threads.  This is not to say that Africans, in general, are insecure but rather, this type of communication forum seems to draw from a particular segment of the African Diaspora, who seem to flourish in anonymous slash and burn discourse.  I do not say this with arrogant certainty, as I clearly do not know the people who post here, however, I can say that I have not witnessed so many rude, flippant, disrespectful commentators since I left high school.

Furthermore, your response leaves readers to wonder whether your intent is/was to teach me or shame me.  When you say, “it only seems radical to you because you Have believed every single piece of Bull that the white Man has handed you,â€? what exactly do you expect to achieve with such a lofty pronouncement?  If you were correct in your hasty assessment, do you think that I will wax nostalgically about our exchange in the months to come and praise your pseudo-cryptic name as I bathe my hair in Shea Butter and memorize the footnotes of Diop’s African Origins . . .?  Or, is it more likely that your harsh rebuke will quell my speech causing me to bite my tongue or bind my fingers if I ever again dare to let my humility out of its cage long enough to ask a question?  When I posted my question I knew that the Knowledge-Police Threaders would pull my black ass over faster than the Las Vegas Police Department cruising a square-dance competition during All-Star Weekend.  Nonetheless, I still chose to inquire.

Changes, revolutions and renaissances occur when people think outside of their individual, contemporary societal and cultural boxes to ask questions that have never been asked before.  Every invention from the simple Post-It to the computer followed this pattern.  Likewise, without new patterns of inquiry, Haiti, China and America, just too name a few, would never have forged new identities.  Even Egypt (Kemet) would have remained stagnant if Ahmose (?) had not asked the question, “Can we expel the Hyksos invaders and thrive again?â€?

But I digress.  Worse than that, I am guilty of engaging in the same kind of electronic clowning that I was so critical of above.  I tell you what, why don’t we just dispense with the blacker-than-thou debates and simply commit ourselves to sharing whatever information we have with one another.  Then, on that great day when all of Africa’s children realize that we are being oppressed through one great big Intellectual and Cultural Matrix, we’ll all open up a beautiful black can of whup-ass and get some payback!

I’m done with this exchange.

Ras Ruben, thank you for the link and for your hospitality.  Rest assured, my inquiry is not due to lack of knowledge.

Apedemak, if you are ready and willing kind Sir, I would really be interested in hearing about those sources.

Holla!
