"Now is the time for us to come together with one another, to organize, to speak out and speak up on behalf of each other. There is no time to waste, while we debate, define, and discuss; the enemy continues his genocidal plan. We need to bear in mind the Ashanti proverb: 'Two men in a burning house must not stop to argue."

"Historically, european slaving nations such as Britain forcibly and systematically insured that the African people abducted from Africa and enslaved in labour camps in the Americas and the Caribbean had to reject their own cultures, spiritual beliefs, political system and family names. By stripping us of our liberty and identities, they took away our human rights.
By branding us with colour coded labels they mentally enslaved many of us who eventually became less aware of the fact that they were Africans. The greatest tribute we can pay to the millions of our Ancestors who suffered under this humane system and avidly resisted the attempts to ‘de-Africanise- them is to work towards reclaiming what has been stolen from us.
The resistance of our Ancestors was against the injustice of enslavement and the injustice of having their identity aggressively suppressed. For those who had their tongues cut out for speaking African languages or who were whipped for practicing our traditional spirituality and customs, we insult their memory and our very existence if we continue to distance ourselves from what they fought so hard to retain."

"Afrikan centered education is rooted in the unique history and evolved culture of Afrikan people. It is defined in its singular commitment to the elucidation of that history, that culture, and the confirmation, invigoration and perpetuation of the Afrikan collective identity that emanates from that history and culture.
Afrikan centered education is concerned with the origins, original status and future of the Afrikan world. Afrikan centered education is committed to correcting the historical distortions born of three millennia of foreign invasion, destruction, enslavement, physical and mental colonialism, cultural disruption, and dependency.
Afrikan centered education is committed to rooting or anchoring the spiritual and intellectual energies of Afrikan people in the spiritual, moral, and philosophical traditions of Afrika.
Afrikan centered education, whether in the several nations of the diaspora or on the motherland, is concerned to fully develop the sense of Afrikan nationality within a broader Pan-Afrikan world. Afrikan centered education is concerned to sever irrevocably the pathological and slavish linkage of Afrikans to the European or Asian ethos.
Afrikan centered education is concerned to enable the Afrikan person with nation building, nation management, and nation maintenance abilities. Afrikan centered education is concerned to motivate teacher, student, parent and community to advance the Afrikan nation/world by any means necessary

"The slavery that feeds on the mind, invading the soul of man, destroying his loyalties to himself and establishing allegiance to forces which destroy him, is an even worse form of capture. The influences that permit an illusion of freedom, liberation, and self-determination, while tenaciously holding one’s mind in subjugation, is the folly of only the sadistic."
"..the slavery that captures the mind and imprisons the motivation, perception, aspiration and identity in a web of anti-self images, generating a personal and collective self-destructive, is more cruel than the shackles on the wrists and ankles."

"negro intellectuals specifically seek to humanize Europeans by normalization or omission. It is characteristic of negroes to inordinately overemphasize the humanity and moral integrity of Europeans by locating their worst behaviors among Afrikans.Confusion is sought.
The politics of negroes is that of spreading confusion. To subtlely create and maintain discord and divisiveness among their peers, children, constituents and, in too many cases, flock is their tried and true mission. They must make the European's unparalleled history of inhumanity appear to be the same as or less than every other group.
Once accomplished, European thought and behavior become 'only human' and, therefore, they become innocent of their singular crimes against humanity."

". . . the basic ideological and philosophical character of [a]merican society . . . is essentially defined by the [e]uropean worldview. This is because the [e]uropean [a]merican community effectively controls [ALL] of the basic institutions which formally define the [a]merican social reality . . . . the basic philosophy, values customs and standards inherent in the [e]uropean worldview form the core or frame of reference for the [a]merican social reality.
The [a]merican social/cultural reality then, is [e]urocentric in its basic nature. It projects [e]uropean people, their history, philosophy, culture, etc., as the center of the universe . . . . to the extent that the [e]uropean [a]merican community effectively controls [a]merican society, it has been able to superimpose its worldview on other, non-[e]uropean communities"

"Howard Zinn has pointed out in A People's History of the United States that "the history of any country, presented as the history of a family, conceals fierce conflicts of interest (sometimes exploding, most often repressed) between conquerors and conquered, masters and slaves, capitalists and workers, dominators and dominated." U.S. history is essentially that type of hidden history.
Without denying important mitigating factors, the United States of today is strongly linked to the values and premises on which it was founded. That is, it is a settler colony founded primarily on two basic pillars, upheld by the Judeo-Christian tradition: genocide of indigenous peoples and slave labor in support of a capitalist infrastructure.
Although the Bible repeatedly exalts mass slaughter and oppression, Judeo-Christian morality is publicly held to be inconsistent with them. This dissonance, evident within the nation's structure from the beginning, informs the state's first function: to oversimplify and minimize immoral events in order to legitimize history and the state's very existence simultaneously. "

"Although I would very much like to get out of here in order to develop a few ideas that have occurred to me — although I would not like to leave my bones here on the hill if it is a choice between that and surrendering the things that make me a man, the things that allow me to hold my head erect and unbowed, then the hill can have my bones.
Many times in the history of our past — I speak of the African here in the U.S. — many times we were presented with this choice, too many times, too many of us choose to live the crippled existence of the near-man, the half-man. Well, I don't care how long I live. Over this I have no control, but I do care about what kind of life I live, and I can control this. I may not live but another five minutes, but it will be five minutes definitely on my terms. "
