Is it me or are a few of the Premiership refs a bit questionable this season??

The EPL games have pretty much sucked this season except the last 30 minutes of Watford-Fulham when both teams tossed caution to the wind and started playing playground soccer/futbol

Now over the weekend I did learn through first hand knowledge that Materazzi is an idiot and after his actions this weekend, I believe that he insulted Zidane.  At first I thought maybe their was a translation issue, but I honestly believe this fool is an out and out idiot.

His team Inter is winning 3-1 and have AC on the ropes.  Bam he comes in unmarked and delivers the KO 4-1 still a lot of time left in the second half and what does this fool do?

He takes off his shirt to show some words on an undershirt and he is already on a yellow.  Knowing that this is a yellow card in itself and gets the red.  After he gets the red he is still pointing at his name on his jersey and the words on his shirt like the game is over.

At this point AC Milan is pissed at being shown up like this.  Cafu takes the game by the throat.  Cafu swings in ball after ball after ball.  Two of them are finished off making it 4-3 and Inter's defensive 3rd is under seige.....  Seedorf blasts ones with those tree trunk like legs of his that smack the keepers hands so hard that even the commentators say whoa......  Kaka wastes a rebound that should have been steered on to goal with his class but suddenly he turns into Emerson swinging wildly at the ball.  Blasting over a beat Inter GK.    AC should have won this game in the end, but due to their back 4' horrible play over the first 60 minutes of the match the hole was too deep.

I can say the same about watching Real and Barca play as it was an up and down match and entertaining at that a week ago with Robinho showing that at the moment HE IS the best Brazilian player in the world.

EPL soccer at the moment is just kick the ball and run.  Arsenal tries to play with finesse and fair but it is boring to watch them pass other teams to death who then get it and kick the ball and run LOL  EPL soccer this season has been one big and long counterattack or KICK THE BALL AND RUN.......

I've always been conscious to the fact that Michael Owen used to do it all the time, come back from a goal drought with a hat trick. I've been telling myself for three weeks to put money on Rooney coming back with a hat trick - man I could have been a millionaire by now!

If any Arsenal fan wants to eat humble pie right now I'll give you the plates and the spoons - help yourselves. Chelsea didn't mash us up- United controlled midfield for the 1st half - Louis Saha in true United style bounced back with a swet left footed goal. Props to chelsea for making it an entertaining game and got a deserved goal. Couple of interesting' moments like Ballack and Drogba's elbow and Ronaldo's trample on Cashley. It reminded me of a United versus Arsenal game - physical but very entertaining. 2 horse race...heck yeah!!

We are here and will accept the loss to Bolton as we seem to be up and down this year.  I did have bad feelings missing Van Persie, Gallas and Henry in this game as they always play us tough.

Still with you tying Chelsea we still have a shot and we did beat you earlier this year don't forget that wagon rider ;)

Still overall I think Man U will claim the top spot being that Man U plays hard no matter who they play.  The goals may not come when they want but they play hard.  Chelsea and my Gunners just seem to play to the level of the competition for 75 minutes a game and then in 5 minute spurts throughout the game sporadically try to pull away (or a lot this season even and then away)

I think we are the better European side as Arsene has seemed to build us for the stretch run, but we still seem to be missing something needed in the table run.

Overall this season has been horrible to watch.  Including even watching Arsenal.  The only good game I have seen this season was Watford and Fulham and that was because they just abandoned defending and turned it into a park kickaround.

Still I think our loss was because of Senderos.  We all knew that the first goal by Anelka was coming against us.  I just felt it.  The second goal should not have happened and Toure should not have been forced to mark Senderos' side of the pitch.  Senderos is only a good player after 8 matches into the season.  Djourou should have been allowed to start with Senderos playing time going gradually up.  Hopefully when Gallas returns he will go back to the bench.

Safety you're full of it I swear.  Just because ARSENAL haven't been that exciting you think the season as a whole hasn't?  For us obviously it's the most fun I've had in ages!  Arsenal and Liverpool seem to be flopping but in general the league is as much fun as it always is.  You sound like you eating sour grapes man.

Arsenal aren't doing well so the league must be crap LOL

Actually Man United and Fulham games are the only ones I have watched this season in full.  I have not even watched one of our complete wins as Henry is pissed at everyon on the team except Fabs and Lehman if the ball does not come to his feet.  The team just has too much laziness in them this year.

Man United' attacking flair is blossoming with Rooney and Saha up front with Ronaldo, Scholes and Giggs running in the middle of the park.  I still thinks Fergie needs to find a person to replace that Tottie reject so that you all can do better in Europe, but I do like watching you guys as even Evra has seem to have grown up and TO ME is better than Heinze.

Fulham I like because who ever they play it will be a shoot out and full of shots.

Don't get me wrong, I still like watching Arsenal, but they will not shoot the damned ball even if the keeper is not in net and they are 8 yards out.  THey have to be in the 6.  Still overall the league is boring this year.

Chelsea had little flair last year on the wings that is gone.  Liverpool is just uggh.  Newcastle well they just beat on the other team and occassionally each other.

Last year I could kick back and watch a good EPL game from at least 16 of the 20 teams.  This year it is just pitiful well except for that Chelsea and Man U game.  That was nice.  This year it is pitiful.  Plus remember we were not doing that well last year either until the end of the last stretch and the games were still entertaining.

This year they look just like the MLS, I watched this summer from top to bottom.  Man U stil has that attacking flair, Arsenal shows flashes of it, diouf is quietly having a great season at Bolton which I think will blossom with Anelka in a while as those tow catch fire.

This has been an anemic season that Man U is taking advantage of.  No one is playing consistantly good football but them.  DM I have given the DEVILS their due.

So enjoy the top for the moment as we will make our run toward the end when you guys start to tie games and we start to pour on the wins after Christmas.

Arsenal just love to make it a cardiac case and can do nothing easy but we have faith in them.  Now if only they will get back to entertaining football instead of sliding into this kick the ball and run mess that the rest of the EPL has grasped......

@ Man U supporters

I did not know that you had stolen Freddy Adu from my club?  WTF?  In DSP Carribean speak "Ya TEEFS!!!!!"

Man you guys are going to ruin him.  I honestly do not think that he is ready for you guys yet.  He needs to go to a club where he can get the time and get used to English ball.

Like last year, I guess we have to concede the title again and focus on Europe..... How in the hell could we lose to Fulham?  Bolton well they have had our number but Fulham?  Fulham who got their asses kicked over here by A League (not MLS) but A League teams with their stars on the pitch :shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:

Starting to panick now...........

The Tottie game may be a lot tougher than we think but being that they can't shoot straight with the average amount of uncontested shots a game we allow on goal even then can kick in 1 or 2 factored in we will not shoot unless we are inside the 6 yard box, we could have a long weekend fellow Gunner supporters.

I may just lock out all Spurs supporters now LOL

@ Safety

It's a matter of your perspective.  When Arsenal won without losing a single game I saw that the league that year was crap, and all teams flopped.  When Chelsea won their first title I thought that year was crap and again that everyone else was crap as opposed to Chelsea being good.  It's not hard to understand that with your dire form you could see the league as crap and everybody as not doing well, but it's just that the same old teams are doing what they do as easily anymore.  Portsmouth, Everton, Bolton have all impressed me this season and Aston Villa haven't looked as impressive as they now do for two decades.  While the attention has been on us Chelsea are right there with us and are playing well, Drogba in particular has been on fire.  I disagree with your analysis

As for Freddy I've no idea why we're interested since he isn't what we need but he will be welcomed.  Fergusson is very good at working with young players and I anticipate a period where he will be naive and selfish as he was in America perhaps for another season before he adapts.  Just like C Ronaldo used to be, showy and useless but now amazingly productive and one of our best assets.

Great result for Chelsea it has to be said, Utd at 1-0 up had the title effectively in their grasp.  Chelsea were about to entered unchartered waters.  Instead they steal a point, despite again playing poorly, and Utd throw it away.

You could see at the end Utd looked tired, while Chelsea had so much in reserve.  Yes Utd still lead the table, but you just got the feeling in that camerashot that there was the answer.  Utd with very little other attacking options are just hoping for good fortune, that their thin squad can avoid any costly injuries to critical players and that they will remain 100% sharp.  This is a gamble.  Not unthinkable, but a gamble nonetheless.

It might happen, they could be injury free till May.  If so they have a strong enough 1st 11 to hold onto their 3 point lead, no question about that.

But theres also a chance that players will get injured.  It happens.  You never know whats around the corner.  If they do, then Utd don't have the depth.

If we're talking in terms of percentages, then I think we'd all agree that its 60-40% in favour of the latter.

Theres talk of reinforcements in January.  Hargreaves?  Now sidelined till the end of January so even thinking about that is another huge gamble, especially as he will have no time to be fit.

Thats why I think Chelsea will win their 3rd successive league title, and Utd will have to settle for 2nd.  I don't even think it will be close as some suggest, probably by atleast 7 points or so.

Man please stop the nonsense...

Our second team swept away an Everton side that has given everyone else trouble 3-0 two days after beating chelsea.  Chelsea on the same day scrapped a lucky win at a Bolton side we thrashed 4-0 previously.  They didn't look so much fitter then.

Man Freddy is not even better than Bobby Convey at Reading.  I doubt he could make as much trouble on the edge as Bobby.  Don't get me wrong he is a developing player, but I think he should have gone to a smaller league to develop like France or the Netherlands where could get used to European pace.  I hope I am wrong as I would love to see him succeed and then snub the US and play for Ghana LOL

You used to be able to do that but with modern rules once you have played or even been selected by your national team at whatever level (under 21s or B team etc) then you can't represent another nation ever

I don't think he has represented the US national team.  I know that he has showed up for the U18s and U21s? but never the full team.  I think he still has the choice.....

If he played for the U21s then that means he can't play for anybody else.

Anyway, is your assessment of him truly that he isn't that impressive?  Remember I know next to nothing of him having only seen clips and excerpts of games.
