Our most important game of the season - and Zenden gets 90 minutes!!! (cant cross, cant shoot, cant tackle)
Our most important game of the season - and we play Javier "West Ham Reject" Mascherano
Our most important game of the season - and we dont play our top goalscorer.
Shocking....

Benitez does makes some weird decesions, like sticking by Harry Kewell when he was fit. To be fair Zendon wouldnt have played if Aurelio wasnt injured.
Our forward line is average lead by Kuyt who does not look like a prolific striker to me in any shape or form. All said i still think we can turn Chelsea over at Anfield.

Not too sure about that. If cheslea manage to get a goal at anfield then we have to score three. We did chelsea over two years ago and last year. Doing them over for the third time in a row woz always a big ask.

We're capable of beating them 1-0 and then finishing them in extra time. Tall order i agree.

I think this match was even more important for Chelsea....and they played like it. We just seemed to be doing a lot of dancing.
Yeah we'll do Chelsea at Anfield but why make it so difficult for ourselves...it's not as if we can beat them by just playing natural free flowing football...that victory has to be grafted and grinded out...physically and psychologically....and there's still the final to play.
Tactically Liverpool are going to have to go for it which could compromise things a bit. I knew Joe Cole would get us....he's one of those nemesis players for us....we seem to have problems with those attacking short punks (like Arjen Robbens)...it's like trying to capture a scurrying rat!

You could sense Chelsea wanted the game that bit more than Liverpool last night.
Drogba also damaged us. Completely slapped up Daniel Agger all night. It was embarrassing for the poor guy.

Benitez should have played this team on Wednesday. Our strongest lineup with the squad we had available
Reina
Carragher* Hyypia Agger Arbeloa*
Gerrard Sissoko Alonso Riiise
Kuyt
Crouch
*Played Carra and Arbeloa there cuz Finnan was injured
We should play this team on Wednesday.
Michael Essien should be back for Chelsea - we need to play our strongest midfield... if we play Mascherano and Zenden, we will get stuffed.

BREAKING NEWS!
Bellamy to leave liverpool. Why is it that strikers like cisse, morientes and bellamy flourish before they come here, and as soon as they come to liverpool under rafa's 'long ball hoof the ball up field' style of play, they struggle? Hmmmm.

Was I the only person who never rated him anyway
I don't rate any liverpool strikers. Rafa should have stuck with Djibril and had patience. As it stands, Crouch is Liverpools most reliable forward player. Say what you will but the freakazoid does get goals.

| OK, bellamy may not have been the best striker around, but was still a decent player. We never really played to his strengths since we play too many long balls, and bellers dont have the height to reach it. I feel sorry for the next striker that comes to liverpool and have his career threatened by benitez boring style of play.

BELLAMY RUBBISHES RAFA STORY
Paul Eaton 28 April 2007
Craig Bellamy tonight rubbished suggestions he has no working relationship with Rafael Benitez, branding the story "complete garbage."
Said Bellamy: "A journalist working for BBC Radio Wales has told people I have problems with Rafa and haven't even got a working relationship with him. That's complete garbage.
"I have gone on record recently and I will say it again now that I have learnt more from Rafael Benitez than any other coach I have worked with.
"I am a much better player for the time I've spent working with him and if I do go on to manage at some point in the future he's the model I'll use in my career. I can't make my respect for him any clearer than that.
"I am even more disappointed that we are approaching a massive game on Tuesday against Chelsea and I am having to waste time responding to this nonsense."

*Walks in on cloud of air*
@ Voluptuousbabe and Kunjufu, i can only wish in hindsight that i'd put money on.
Who cares, just hearing Mourinho humble his arrogant self was good enough compensation. What a night........again...........dumping Chelsea out.................again........
And Kuyt's goal was onside, so we were even denied of the victory in playing time. It couldnt have come any sweeter...lol

Wow le moor wot a prediction. U're good at this. I'll admit the first time i noticed you on this site woz the 'liverpool will beat milan in the final' thread. When i saw that i laughed coz we were playing rubbish, and it looked very unlikely.
Well done to the boys. Chelsea must be really drained from playing us. Woz relaxed throughout the build up and throughout the whole match coz i didnt expect us to win. I'm glad they surprised me.

If you had to pick a result on us winning, then it really wasnt that unlikely when you think about it.
The alternative to tonight's result, was Chelsea scoring 1 which would have meant we would have needed 3 or us winning 2-0 in normal time. You just couldnt see either of those results happening against Chelsea could you?
If you had to pick a win at'll, then the most probable option had to involve either a win in extra (playing) time or penalties.
