What makes you think Milan will go past United if they can't handle fast paced premiership football? The Roma game was a perfect example of premiership football coupled with the British bulldog mentality, only three of the Man United starting line-up was foreign (Vandersar, Heinze and Ronaldo).
And don't write Chelsea off, you lot are busy counting your chickens. We will see at the end anyway.

Because Man U dont play tactically correct in Europe against top sides. They will try to play the European style game and get caught out, probably by this guy

| True dat. That's only when I think we might get stuck.... when we try to play european football. Otherwise, if United takes the game to Milan and go straight for the Jugular like they did against Roma.......there aint no stopping us.

For "european" read "italian" ie boring slow defensive football that stifles as opposed to playing. Thank fugg United don't play like that

Beware of eggs before they hatch! Hell... the chicken ain't even lay down yet!
LOL look at you getting all touchy....
Have a look at the start date of the lead post then compare that to the date of the semis and final. Once finished could you run that egg thing by me one more time
I know when this thread was started silly, if you go back a few pages I was busy posting in it!
You man try bring it back like say Liverpool and Milan will walk back into a replay final like say Man U ain't nuttin... Like say Chelsea will roll over for you...
Chuuups
Watcher its not about rolling over. Some-one has to win and someone has to lose. From there one takes a position. Mine is firmly Liverpool.
Of course none of the three challengers will go quietly, we expect that.

Besides having thought about it, i cant think of a better final than Man U Vs Liverpool. We could repay you for those years of hurt when Jimmy Greenof, Lou Macari then Cantona scored goals to win in the 1977 and 1996 FA Cup finals.
This would be so much sweeter.
Man U have got serious injury problems at the moment and if Ferdinand's groin plays up in time for the semi final against Milan, you can kiss the final goodbye.

| Please! Milan are a better defensive side than manu and they're players are just as technically gifted if not better. This is manu's first big test in the champions league this season and i am curious to see how they will get on.

Boy Man U got slapped tonight.....
We will have to deal with kaka in Athens, hes deadly. Made Ronaldo and Rooney look ordinary.
Milan also play a good pressing game, so they'll be very difficult to beat from all angles. Last edited on Wednesday May 2nd, 2007 20:43 by Le Moor

I don't think Liverpool will have a problem with Milan. They beat us today because Man U obviously got stage fright and played abyssmaly. In fact that was the worst performance by united all season. Milan weren't good. United were just sh*t. The passing was atrocious, the control and touch was pathetic, looked like they couldn't string two passes together. Carrick and Fletcher were especially weak and Ronaldo was ineffectual trying the wrong thing every time. There was no closing down, lots of ball watching star gazing.
Any team would have beat the United that showed up in Italy today. Crap.
Liverpool to beat Milan easily.
Bollocks to champions league anyway. f**k it

The sad part is that Milan is just hitting their stride. They are not playing at their peak either........
I think Milan has it in for Liverpool this time. The 'Pool embarrassed them the last time on the world stage. While Liverpool may come in wanting to take the title, AC Milan has something to prove to themselves, their fans, and the world......

LOL @ CL comment.
Milan looked like they were getting stronger and they were just hungry.......bad. They just cancelled out Man U's game from every angle. They seem to start well and set an objective of 2 goals in the first half. They had to get to 2 as otherwise it would have left them open to lose the game if MU got a late equaliser..............I dont even think Man U would have won the first leg if Gattuso hadnt gone off injured. Little man just terrorised Carrick, Scholes and Fletcher. Imagine if they had Ronaldo playing up front.
@ Incog, my prediction is we will win, but thats emotive rather than rational as they looked seriosly warm last night and hungry. They're bound to be worse in Athens as they want revenue plus its the CL final.
The only weakness i can see, is that they seem to start off their games at a high tempo but fade as the game goes on. They did at Old Trafford and when we beat them 2 yrs ago and last night; all be it last night they were just defending their lead. If we can contain them for a long period then its our best chance. If kaka destroys us like he did the MU defence in both games then there is unlikely to be a repeat of the comebck we had 2 years ago.
We have to take the game to Milan, press them as hard as they do us, win the war in midfield, keep Kaka quiet, dont get caught out by their counter, keep the tempo high for the entire game, take our chance/s when it/they come and then the cup is coming back to Anfield.

Man Utd got well and truly hurt last night. All that trash talk the media were coming out with saying about Rooney and Ronaldo gonna shine last night.
As safetyblitz menitioned above, Milan now has a point to prove and revenge will be something they will be thinking of in Athens.

Milan didn't do sh*t yesterday they didn't have to.
United beat United.
Anybody who says Milan did something special or good clearly weren't watching. United were crap. Wigan would have beat us yesterday. When your team can't go two or three passes without giving the ball back to the opposition, when they hand the opposition goals on a plate and when you can count the touches your sole single isolated striker had with one hand you see Milan didn't do a damned thing. It's not as if Milan passed United to death, United actually had more possesion, they were just crap with it. It's not as if Milan closed United down and played well defensively or shut the door, they didn't. United were simply crap. Don't go bigging up Milan for that stupid game. They have nothing to offer, providing liverpool don't go playing as sh*t as we did (which should be easy) they'll have a comfortable win.
Liverpool to win 2-0

@ Watcher.
If United were allowed to play their game, maybe you're right, they would have beaten Milan. But they didn't let them play their game because Milan were constantly pressing them up the field and not giving them the time and space to play.
In a nutshell Milan did their homework on United and the rest is history.Last edited on Thursday May 3rd, 2007 13:17 by MCP

Being allowed had nothing to do with it man, united pannicked in the tunnel before the first kick off and were scared and crap before the whistle even blew.

I don't believe that for one bit. United are more than accustomed to european football. Giggs, Scholes, Van Der Sar, Heinze to say the least have had more than there fair share of experience of top flight european footie.

Watcher,
You do not have to do something special just to play methodically and win...... That is the hallmark of a good team. To win when you are not playing your best. That is what Milan did. You have to give the other DEVILS their due

Watcher: sorry too harsh.....Man Utd as mich as I hate to admit it didn't play crap, the problem in a nutshell was the same as Chelsea the other day... The size and quality of the squad. In the end Man U's squad or the quality of it caught up with them big time...
The simple fact is Arsene Wenger admits that you cannot in this day and age commit to 4 competitions and expect to do well...which is why he plays his second IX in the league cup and sometimes in the FA cup.... and then concentrates on the Champions league and the premiership...
If you look at it objectively Chelsea went all out for all 4 competitions without a recognise central defender to replace Gallas, got away with it barely in the League Cup against us...but got burnt imo by Bolton and others in the premiership, got burnt again in the Champions league and may get done again in the FA cup..but time will tell..
Man Utd were already struggling with injuries in the back line in the premiership...but still went for the FA cup..nearly got burnt by Everton in the premiership, but the injuries came home to roost in the Champions league... because unlike Everton Milan took full advantage of Man UTD lack of quality and tired legs..
in my view Man U/chelsea did well but they just got too greedy and ended up losing the one prize they really wanted...

K - in short...craven dawg lose dem bone
Maybe Benitez insisting on fielding Dudek in the FA cup may prove to be his master stroke after all...then again, the fact that liverpool have reached the final may be seen as proof enough already.

So i got lucky.
Bro if i were really that good i would charge all of uno for the tips...truss.
In Italy and Spain they play the same amount of league games as they do in the Premership...38 in all. They also have 2 major cup competitions, but one of ours(league Cup) the top teams dont play their full sides anyway. So the arguement about the amount of games we play doesnt hold that much weight when you check it really...
Man U got manners last night, plain and simple. All this talk about Ronaldo being the best player in the World.........really. Name one top level game where Ronaldo has damaged up a team the same way he does against the rubbish defences in England. People always get carried away with themselves over English stars. Henry is another one who cant do it at the very top level the way he does at club level; when it matters. However Kaka can, you saw that both games and probably deserves the title of the 'worlds best player'.
Ronaldo and Rooney tried, but the game Milan played didnt give them the space or time to get into their strides. Watch the re-run and you'll see the style. Had it of been a lesser team no doubt they would have done what they do in week in and week out; why wouldn't they, it was the semi final of the CL for christs sake. Milan sussed Uniteds game big time, it was embarrassing and they shamed themselves and the Premership with their naviety and inept tatics.

Milan isn't as brilliant as they used to be in 2005 but they are by far the best team in this year's CL.
The midfield is close to perfection...Gattuso (damm..he really killed Ronaldo), Seedorf is brilliant, Pirlo and Kaka..what else can you ask for?
But they lack of stamina...Liverpool needs to take it to overtime. In a Final you always have a chance but my money is on Milan...
Thank you Liverpool for eliminating Chelsea.

Don't you just hate that pompus git Jose Muruniho. Cant believe that he thought Chelsea were the better side in that game. Honestly think the guy is losing it.
