Actually you ain't joking.....my big brother is going to buy me two vests before I leave. I actually hope they will send me to link up with my guys, (They left in February)....I don't want to link up with a new unit.
REALLY, I went to get the Pentagon, NGB, ANYTHING but Afganastan, GAWD, I hate cold weather...don't be fooled, the mountains ARE FREEZING

Trust me when I say I know. Those Afghan cats have that hard tough skin on their faces from the bitter wind.
Like I tell people chasing the Afghans in those mountains is like chasing a mountain lion. You might think you are the hunter, but you can easily turn into prey. Just remember those guys fought the Russians in those same mountains as well as each other and now us. Keep your head down and smack Rumsfeld if you get the chance LOL

Thank you thank you, but you know we say in the military, you aren't gone until you are gone....to be honest I'm supposed to be gone already my men have already shipped out. I just wanted to be here for the birth of my daughter....so I supposed its time to go.
In any event, I didn't want to just leave and once I 'get orders, I'll be gone.

@CASHMONEY Just my time is up, I'm supposed to be gone already so I can't complain about it all. There is still a chance I'll be keeping my arrogant cocky azz here. You really aren't gone until you are gone.....time will tell.
101 and Safety can tell you, once you get orders........you are gone. So I didn't want to get the call and be gone....HOPEFULLY!!! HA HA HA, I'll still be here in 2 - 10 days.

On the real remember what I said about those mountains. Treat the afghans like mountain lions in their habitat. They were fighting in those mountains 20 years before we set foot in them. 
Don't get caught admiring the view. I cannot tell you how many firefights have started after a guy is admiring the beauty of another country and then all hell breaks out. LOL
Most of all keep your head down and on the real fugg the country just fight for the dudes beside you and hope they do the same so you can all get back home.

Parris, your post has shocked me. Didn't know you were in the Military (missed your early posts). Always had mixed feelings about people in armed forces, military action etc. But your post made me realise that the people on the front line are regular guys with families etc. I didn't really see the human beings beneath the uniforms and politics.....
God keep you safe Parris, I sincerely hope you come home to be with your beautiful daughter soon. I will be praying for you and your safe return. XXX

I find it EXTREMELY suspicious that the majority of black American men now on this board just "happen" to be in the military and just "happen" to be Marines.
It's not like that in real life...so why is that the case on this site?
